The Environmental Protection Agency today unveiled its proposed rule to bring natural and man-made bodies of water big and tiny under the purview of the Clean Water Act, sparking accusations that the administration has embarked on an unprecedented breach of private property rights without scientific basis.
This launches a robust outreach effort to gather input in shaping a final rule over the next 90 days, the EPA said, maintaining that the rulemaking isnt groundbreaking but a clarification effort needed to clearly define streams and wetlands protection after Supreme Court decisions in 2001 and 2006. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Ranking Member David Vitter (R-La.) echoed the warning that the new rule may be one of the most significant private property grabs in U.S. history.
Todays rule also shows EPA picking and choosing the science they use, Vitter added. Peer review of the Agencys connectivity report is far from complete, and yet they want to take another step toward outright permitting authority over virtually any wet area in the country, while at the same time providing a new tool for environmental groups to sue private property owners.

Oh, something a bunch of dead white guys believed in a few hundred years ago - outdated concepts, ya' know?
So is my bath tub a temporary body of water? I also have a few low spots on the lawn that a heavy rain will turn into puddles! Just where does it end?
The EPA has to go. Their umbrella is too big and the only that that has gotten better is their paychecks.
Easing in Agenda 21...
CA....
It is TIME to DownSize DC!
Close the entire destructive bitch called the EPA.
The environmental movement openly declares its hostility to the Industrial Revolution, which requires private property rights to function properly.Private ownership of the means of production such as land and natural resources has prevented any tendency toward a progressive growth in land rents and a decline in real wage rates for the average worker toward subsistence.
The meaning of its systematic efforts to stop the use of pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers, and of its further systematic efforts to stop the conversion of previously submarginal land and mineral deposits into highly productive land and mineral deposits-notably its efforts to stop the economic exploitation of "rainforests," "wetlands," the Arctic, Antarctica, and the ocean floors, as well as much of the American west and Alaska. The measure of its success must be the rise on the economic significance of land and mining rents and a decline in the level of real wages toward subsistence.
fedgov as it currently is, has to go. they need to get forced back into the dc district borders, period.
Not downsize, VAPORIZE!
Don’t flush that toilet until it is EPA verified to contain no endangered micro-organisms.
A revolution is overdue...
We’d all be a lot better off today if they’d shot Wickard and sent Filburn to Congress.
