Drivers licencse renewal? Gun data base check and off to jail!

etc.

“Makes you wonder why liberals don’t work on separating guns from criminals rather than from the rest of us.”

Criminals are their allies because they keep the gun issue alive. The most likely scenario is to ignore those who are not complying, but to selectively prosecute the daylights out of a few individuals in highly publicized cases. The left loves making examples and impoverishing gun owners with law-fare. The question is, will Connecticut voters throw any Democrats out of office over this? I suspect not as the left can live with levels of cognitive dissonance that would be lethal could they be achieved by conservatives.

They’ll use the asset forfeiture laws on your financial accounts. We think you have an unregistered firearm? All your money are belong to us.

Only if they resist will there be a positive outcome. If people give in, then it is over.

I think they’ll try to make a few examples, empty bluff unless the rest cave.

The government can’t choose not to enforce the law...

Oh, wait, Obama has chosen not to enforce a lot of laws he doesn’t like.

Nevermind.

The patch on the left shoulder I’m sure is some sort of marksman insignia. It looks like skull and crossbones.
It would be very sad for all should this come down to blood shed. Why can’t Politicians just leave people alone. This constant need to impose their will is pathological.

Good old Passive-Aggressive Civil Disobedience. The bullets don’t have to fly, the doors don’t need to be broken down. Any actions by the state against ‘formerly’ legitimate gun-owners just might result in unintended consequences.

And as we all know from our dealings in multiple foreign countries that the one who sticks it out the longest will win. In our current America of near-instant gratification the Authorities just might not have the level of concentration and stick-to-it-tivenes necessary for doing this over the long term. Especially when their elections to office are at stake.

FTA: Makes you wonder why liberals don’t work on separating guns from criminals rather than from the rest of us.

That's not difficult to fathom at all. Taking firearms from criminals who use them to kill and intimidate other people is dangerous. It might put the act of police getting home safely at the end of their shifts at risk.

I believe there will likely be a series of individual spectacular raids in several cities with lots of pyrotechnics and people thrown on the ground and people shot as a demonstration. Then we will see. I am sure Holder is behind-the-scenes pushing it pretty hard right now.

An indication what a communists run State looks like. Police are no longer to be trusted since they are more gestapo like than servants of the public. We might call them puppets of the ruling class of communists like administrations. Connecticut is just a small sample of a State that has lost its way.

I think this has been posted before - the comparison of this act and prohibition.

If not, let’s quickly review the bidding.

Both were pushed by a progressive/liberal/socialist cabal. Both were designed to cure a social ill that was destroying the nation and threating the lives of defenseless children. Both received heavy support from the media. Both were supported by legislation passed with great fanfare. Both bills were passed into law fairly quickly.

Now, how did Mr. and Mrs. J. Doe support Prohibition?

Remember that Prohibition did NOT deal with a constitutionally protected right; and the actual consumption of alcoholic beverages had been going down in the decades preceding prohibition.

Finally the minor criminals who violated Prohibition laws became celebrities and men to be admired; I will not discuss their collective impact on the society as a whole.

Now, after reviewing the bidding, as it were; does anyone wish to bet their farm that the response to this form of prohibition will be much different?

They should try to quietly repeal it. That is the best way to save face.

But the left are incapable of retreating on such an important agenda item as gun confiscation. After all, it’s not as though THEY will be looking down a barrel one day.

And therein lies the problem.
