Economist Warns of Collapse Risk: “Will Not Allow Life to Continue As We Know It”
SHTF Plan ^ | 3/7/14 | Mac Slavo

What you have to keep in mind is that back in 2008 we had one of the greatest financial crises the United States ever faced. The system was on the brink of collapse at that point in time.

What the Fed and the federal government did was spend every penny they could, anything they could create or anything they could guarantee. They did everything they could possibly do to keep the system from crashing. They guaranteed all bank accounts. So, they saved the system, but now what they did has not borne fruit. We have not seen an economic recovery. We have not seen a return of health to the banking system.

So, the system is very vulnerable; and if the Russians carry through with their threat, you have, indeed, the risk of it collapsing the system.

Money quote:

One huge indicator of this is that Staples, a leading supplier of office supplies nationwide, is shutting the doors on 225 stores. And, they aren’t the only ones getting hammered by a pullback in consumer spending. The world’s largest retailer, Walmart, saw sales drop over 20% year-over-year in the fourth quarter of 2013.

And as trend forecaster Gerald Celente once noted, “as goes Walmart, so goes America.”

Please consider this our weekly Preppers' Thread to post progress, good buys, DIY projects, ...

To start things CVS has canned DAk hams for $3.00 which is good, but a sure sign of inflation as they have always been $2.50 on sale before. I brought a can of 5.45X39 for my AK74 as its possible that Russian made ammo may become hard to find. I notice everyone stocks up on ammo, but do you stock up on cleann suppies?

Our little payback for corrupt fat corps, fat gov and punitive taxes?

We went very galt some years ago....

If we don't absolutely need it, we don't buy it. If it breaks and we can't fix it ourselves, we don't buy a replacement. We'll fabricate it before we ever buy it.

It's one way we can punish the ever controlling, ever taxing government.

It's now turned into a fun hobby, almost an obsession to see how little these controlling insiders can steal from us.

Propping up a dysfunctional system is a fools game. The big loser is big grubment. The grubment is the problem and the solution is to downsize it.

One huge indicator of this is that Staples, a leading supplier of office supplies nationwide, is shutting the doors on 225 stores.

That is a major indicator, but only if it means that folks are buying less. It's possible that most Staples customers didn't quit buying things, but just switched to on-line discounters.

Good for you.

I’ll take glee in the collapse of this system that has done too much damage for far too long.

Unitl now people didn’t have a choice, didn’t know they had a choice.

Another problem has been all the wrong people want to be taken care of.

Frequently mentioned topics are:

Housewives who like to use their marriage as a renewal of carefree adolescene, with their husband being their new ‘daddy.’ Such women often like to divorce and take the house and kids and bank account leaving the man devastated.

Certain minorities who live off of the backs of taxpayers and create more taxes through their constant criminal activity.

Moron liberals and RINOS who vote for Obama (Clinton) and want to make nice with our enemies instead of drawing a line. RINOS who want someone else to do the dirty work while they sit back and be judgmental.

Keep an eye out at Walgreens also. We have been picking up the Celebrity canned hams at $2.50. They are like Dak, a product of Norway.

Also, we have started using a fairly new gun cleaning product called Italian Gun Grease. It is really fantastic stuff. You can order it from their website www.italiangungrease.com Pat did a product review on survialblog awhile back. He loves it. We now use it exclusively.
