The Ukrainians got rid of a corrupt, delusional tyrant?
Color me jealous...
If you didn't see the pics of Yanukovych's tacky mansion, that's -here- It's already been nationalized, and there's talk of turning into a 'Museum of Corruption'.
Nobody knows where the deposed/impeached president is at still, most likely back in his power base of eastern Ukraine- an arrest warrant has been issued in his name.
Tellingly, Yanukovych delivered his last, desperate TV address in Russian.
And Ukrainian expats were roaming the streets of London yesterday, looking for a major Yanukovych ally (Rinat Akhmentov) they expect to see arriving at his extravagant London flat soon.
Akhmetov had received over 30% of government tenders... up until this last weekend, anyway. Yanukovych's own son seems to have gotten the lion's share of the rest...

Congrats to Ukraine! My heart goes out to them. As mediocre as the EU’s soft-socialism economy is, it’s a damn sight better than the Marxist CIS. So, good luck, Ukes.

Interestingly, not everbody over there is gung ho about the EU, but they probably DO need the EU aid.
I was reading were right wing groups there despise the EU -said it’s just a USSR with more money- and are pushing for a more independent Ukraine.
What united everybody was getting rid of corrupt government in general, imho
To: Reaganite Republican
Oh, I agree. But they’re going to have to pick a side, now. Their tinpot dictator has been a commie puppet for some time now - it’s either the EU or deal with Putin plotting against them.

Their finances are such a mess.
But don't worry....Kerry said something about "a big carrot".
And in the same breath...take a look at Egypt..

What if the East, say Sevastapol, where they speak Russian, were to ask Putin to send in ‘peacekeepers’ now...?
That’s what I’m really worried about
To: Reaganite Republican
Yup. Now that the Olympics are over, Putin is on his way. Who’s going to stop him? Not our guy who is drawing pink lines.
