Welcome to Dystopia. They want to make tobacco illegal, while at the same time a local fatcat lawyer with political ambitions is circulating a petition to legalize weed here in Florida. How many old hippie potheads have had car accidents because they were high? Lots of them, at least around here. How many people have had car accidents as the result of smoking a cigarette? None at all. But in the new social reality, tobacco is evil and “medical” marijuana is good.

I agree with the point you are making but have to pick one nit. There have been accidents caused by cigarette smoking, but not because the smokers were impaired as they are with pot. Most cigarette accidents are caused by inattention to driving (similar to those caused by fiddling with the radio or eating while driving). I have also heard of lit cigarette butts thrown out the window flying into the car/truck behind and starting a fire or injuring someone.
Your bottom line I totally agree with: reefer makes you stupid and lazy, and it destroys your ambition. Maybe that’s why the libs are so in favor. It’s easier to control sheeple with no ambition.

Actually, enough that most insurance companies will charge a tobacco user a premium--even on their car insurance (think of dropped 'cherries' and trying to keep your crotch from catching on fire).
A distraction, granted, not as bad as 'texting' or the 95% of idiot drivers I have seen who were on the phone, but one of the first identified.
Sadly, "tobacco user" also covers those of us who use smokeless tobacco, and we aren't going to burn any tender parts with that.
