Once again we reach that time of the week where we single out an odious person for our Jerk of the Week honors. Some weeks are harder than others, but this week was surprisingly easy. With the holiday week between Christmas and New Years, you would have thought that most people would be on their best behavior or lay low. However, MSNBC is the gift that keeps on giving. This time, it's in the form of Melissa Harris-Perry.
Earlier this week, Melissa Harris-Perry had a segment on her MSNBC show where a picture was shown of Mitt Romney and his family. In the center of the family photo was Romney's adopted grandchild, who just happens to be black. At this point, the guests on her show began to openly mock the photo and the Romney family. They went on to say that the photo showed the true Republican Party with their token black person. While Melissa Harris-Perry did not directly say these comments, she condoned them as she chuckled along wit them as well as the fact that it was her tv show that this was being done on.
This contempt by Melissa Harris-Perry and other progressive liberals shows how they operate, in that everything is political. Nothing is ever sacred in their eyes and they believe that everybody does something for an ulterior motive. The fact that someone does something out of love, kindness, or Christian charity eludes them as they cannot fathom other people not acting the same way that they do. Later in the week, Harris-Perry offered a few apologies over the mocking of the Romney grandchild. She first did this on twitter and later on her MSNBC show. While Romney graciously accepted the apology, I personally don't feel that it was sincere.
First, Melissa Harris-Perry describes the specific show where she and some comedians were going to look back on the year with humor. She then said that she planned to say something uplifting and positive about the Romney picture. You would think that she would be open to mixed-raced families as she comes from one. Her father is black and her mother is white, so you would think she would be sensitive to such matters. Of course, you would be wrong as she's a progressive nutjob. She says, " Adults who enter into public life implicitly consent to having less privacy. But their families, especially their children, should not be treated callously or thoughtlessly. My intention was not malicious, but I broke the ground-rule that families are off-limits. And for that, I am sorry. Also, allow me to apologize to other families formed through transracial adoption, because I am deeply sorry that we suggested that interracial families are in any way funny or deserving of ridicule. On this program, we are dedicated to advocating for a wide diversity of families. It is one of our core principles. And I am reminded that when we are doing so, it must always be with the utmost respect."
What a load of bull. She has no respect for families and children. For one, she is pro-abortion. She has also stated her progressive belief that children do not belong to their parents, but rather to the collective as a whole. The only family diversity that she advocates for is whether your children are indoctrinated by the state in either a blue jumpsuit or a red one. Lastly, if she planned on being complimentary to the Romneys over their family makeup, she would have made that clear at the beginning of the segment and waded in when her guests began to ridicule the Romney family. If you need a poster person for Jerk of the Week, look no further than Melissa Harris-Perry. Be on the lookout if you ever send your children to Tulane University as she is a professor there.

any parents who’s children are attending tulane should call the university administration immediately an express concern that this vile woman is poisoning their children’s minds.
Well, if this was the only anti-conservative, anti-Republican crude rant, I would like to forgive her for her actions against Romney’s adopted son...but
Her previous problems with the truth make this problematic. I do think that she actually thinks that she is sorry about this instance but that has little effect upon her continuing liberal platitudes...so..
She is still a very liberal leftist that uses her position to advance her parties policies while denigrating all others with worse. Good luck with that partial apology...

It’s really funny now that Alec Baldwin has tweeted openly mocking the tears of the hyphen-lady. He’s wondering if he had only cried, would mslsd still be paying him a salary.
I saw CNN report that she ‘teared up’ during her apology, which she did in the show opening Saturday morning.
I didn’t see any tears.
Why are so many mulatto women self-haters?
