Graham was an Air Force officer.

Active for 6 years.

Then Reserve and National Guard for a long time.

He retired as a Colonel.

I’m pretty sure he was not a pilot.

He got a law degree at some point, and I think most of his military career involved legal issues.

Well, as was mentioned, the pardoning murderers thing (as a parting shot). He largely sabotaged the AR GOP (by cronyism and micromanaging) to the point that when he left office, he had turned the clock back on the state party by a whopping 40 years (leaving 1 Republican in major office — 1) and gave the AR Dems a second wind (it took a Democrat Governor for the state GOP to begin to recover).

He was also a disaster with respect to making sure Tyson foods kept the slave (illegal) labor spigot running to man their factories. When people of conscience complained about this, he berated Conservatives — in a church speech (!) — that THEY were the ones in the wrong (think of the similar “heartless” comments by Rick Perry in TX, who isn’t much better).

All in all, a pious, tin-plated phony who liked to pretend he was a Conservative, but his record didn’t match the rhetoric.
