Education majors who can’t spell or use proper grammar. No really a shock anymore.
No wonder America gets dumber and dumber with each generation
They may be stupid as hell but they sure have that “offensive” T-Shirt, no praying in school, condoms vs. cucumbers and zero tolerance for action figure toy guns bull**** down.
it time w’all standed up for r right cuz we gonna be ejucaters, copish?
I loved it last week when Shaq defended use of the n-word as being part of “Ebonics culture.”
lol
The American “education” system is in the toilet.
Please tell me this is a satirical post. I haven’t found the “satire” tag yet, but I’ll keep hoping.
I am finishing my degree at Colorado Technical University. Our professors don’t correct spelling and grammar ... they just mark off points. Papers also have to be in compliance with APA and contain a minimum of three references from reliable sources. That is considered the minimal acceptable work.
I would think, perhaps incorrectly, UCLA would have a similar requirement?
While working at a publishing company, I could not hire an editor who could actually spell and punctuate. One promising candidate had a recent J-school degree from University of FL .he got 50% on the spelling test. Why? He told me he was never graded on spelling, grammar, useful writing skills, the only criteria was POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.
I think he should have sued the school.
Please tell me you are joking! I’m no spelling expert (more of a math guy) but I can past most spelling tests. A JD not able to spell!?!? WOW... I’m floored.
Well, there's one point off ;-)
Wow!
The race card is accepted in more places than American Express.
You can’t make this stuff up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, he could have been niggardly with his corrections, but I’m not sure they would have liked that either.
+And I bet he used racist Redinks to make the corrections!
Of course the personnel managers reading their ungrammatical and misspelled resumes will be more understanding.
In the past, learning to spell was mostly a course activity for elementary school. From junior high on, kids were expected to know how to spell and/or know how to use a dictionary.
