This site exists to inspire all Canadians that given how much money we spend on taxes that we should mandate that if we as Canadians are going to spend tens of billions of dollars for new aircraft to patrol the blue sky of Canada, then we should build them here. We have the engineering depth as a nation, we have the skilled professionals that can and should come together to manufacture the new Super Arrow or build the Arrow as submitted by Bourdeau Industries..
With the hundreds of millions we have invested into the development of the F-35 JSF, Canada is entitled to the results of the research that we can and should integrate into the development of the CF-XX Super Arrow. This aircraft is the result of a fusion between the Avro Arrow and the designs for the YF-23 built by Northrop, F-35, F-22, CF-18, B-1 Lancer and B-2. The Super Arrow is a large bird. She has a 17m wing span and is designed for a multi-role platform. She is an interceptor first, fighter/bomber second and is also designed for close air support for our troops on the ground.
With an augmented fuel system, where she can carry liquefied air, the Super Arrow can, we think anyway, fly as high as 250 000 feet and with a booster rocket attached underneath, we believe the Super Arrow could become a sub-orbital vehicle.
Since we have started, the design of this bird has changed and its very exciting to see the evolution of this bird. We have not finished with the redesign since we launched this site and unveiled the Super Arrow, but never the less we are excited to preside over this phase!

Let's get serious about fighter aircraft. The AVRO Arrow was crushed by the American defense industry. Politically. Not by technical merits. Let us rectify the situation. Imagine a Mach 5.1 aircraft. With full armaments and a full set of hardpoints. Nobody else is taking on the SU-35. The F-35 is going to lose 2-1 or worse every single time.

A Mach 5.1 fighter? I’m sensing a problem already with the specification...

The Arrow was a great aircraft, and it was crushed by the US administration. I think it good for Canada to have an organic fighter capablility.

The Arrow was an advanced fighter and the U.S. did ask the Canadians to scrap it because the company was absolutely full of Russian Spies.
I think the Mig 25 was probably built on the same general lines as the Arrow. It turned out to not be very practical despite it’s incredible speed.

Ask? It absolutely guaranteed that John Diefenbaker hated America for the rest of his life.

It wasn’t a one way deal. We gave Canada first class fighters to make up for the loss of the Arrow.
It also saved Canada a lot of money.

Negatory. Canada stood to make a huge incursion into the US Defense contractor cash flow and that was what killed the deal for them.
