The basic idea that for the first three years of Obamacare, the Treasury has committed to protecting against an industry-wide death spiral — and that could well occur if insurance customers continue to avoid the Obamacare exchanges...

This is well worth a vote, because it will highlight the bailout provision, which most Americans aren’t aware of at all...

Hmmm...

Is Rubio trying to implement the death by 1000 cuts?

So basically no matter what happens the formerly private insurance carriers are going under.
Then the dems will say “what a great time for single payer woohoo!”.
Am I missing something?
I hope I am.

I'd never heard that Uncle Sugar was re-insuring the insurers until yesterday.

No wonder they dance to Bammy's Killer's tune.

I think Rubio keeps the bailout in the bill, but puts it under congressional oversight and appropriation rather the blank check that has already been given to Sebelius as part of the ACA.

First I’ve heard of this too. Wouldn’t surprise me if it comes as news to the Beltway ruling class as well.
So regardless of what happens, the taxpayers bail-out govtl. malpractice and insurance companies held at gunpoint.
Sounds like GM-Chrysler redux. The only assistance the Stupid Party should be offering is to “pull the trigger” on Barry’s nonsense.

I read an article some place yesterday that said that some organization is taking this to court, because essentially it’s considered bribery or undue influence and prohibited under an earlier law.

long after the agro-industrial complex regained its financial footings, when did the taxpayers subsidies to it end?

never

so, even in a perfect world, long after the insurance companies might recover from “big” losses due to the requirments of insuring all the Obama mandated coverages, when would such subidies given to them under Obamacare “temporarily” ever be allowed to end

most likely NEVER, as the insurance companies would forever hold out the prospect that everyone’s premiums would go up again once the subsidies end

crony capitalists will always sell everyone’s Liberty for a few scheckels, even though, what they get for them slowly converts their business into supine serfs of ever widening, ever depening government control; those in charge of these corporations are not stupid, they know they, personally, will have left with the company with their retirement and savings before that happens
