Perhaps it’s because he’s speaking an obvious (to us) truth that our president ignores. Perhaps it’s because Putin’s words indicate he sees the same reality we see. Perhaps Obama’s words indicate he sees a false world of pretty rainbows, tweeting bluebirds, unicorns and free universal health care, free phones, free, free, free stuff.
One reflects a sustainable, safer reality and the other a fantasy that will come to no good end when it runs out of other people’s money.
Wow. Russia is looking more and more like a place to move to......in some ways - of course not all.

I dunno about Russia, but the post Communist countries of central Europe are quite nice. I fully enjoyed my 6+ years in Slovakia.

Putin is the best ruler Russia has ever had since Tsar Peter; Bork Obunga is the worst leader any advanced state has ever had since Nero. All you’re seeing here is a heavy dose of reality.
It’s good to hate what Obama is trying to do to the country and what he stands for.
But it is good to check your view of Putin by remembering he’s a master propagandist who doesn’t see the world the way you do and isn’t looking for Americans to win. He’s still a cold warrior at heart, and while you respect his steely, manipulative intelligence, it is good to remember that he wants what Obama wants—not what’s good for our country.
It is part of his talent to make you see him as more on your side than on Obama’s side.
People from those countries are also often disgusted with how easily Americans are duped by the totalitarianism of socialism. They also have a keen, unromanticized take on Putin and his government.

I believe most Americans would agree that if any immigrant comes to this country, they should do so legally , Learn to speak English and study to become a citizen. There is no reason for me dialing a phone and being asked if I speak English.
Any others we do not need.

I can understand disliking Obama but this hero-worship of Putin is baffling. To paraphrase another Freeper, the enemy of my enemy can still be my enemy. And make no doubt about it, Putin is no friend of the U.S.

Putin likes Russia and wants to make it better.
Obama hated the USA and wants to “fundamentally transform it” in his image of what it should be.
This is about more than Obama. Bush would not have made such a speech as Putin’s either. It’s really about how the west let itself be conquered by political correctness.
