How many doctors just flat give up accepting medicare/medicaid/michild(CHiP in Texas, btw)?
United Behavioral Health was awarded the contract to cover some children by the State of Texas. Reimbursement rates are much higher than the rates for the same services for children who are covered by their parent’s commercial policies. CHIP and Medicaid rates for mental health services in Texas for the same population are also higher than the UBH rates for commercial plans which are paid by the policyholder.
In this one particular instance, taxpayers are taking it on the chin.
