Sick Left Exploit Mass Shooting To Push Gun Ban
Friends of Ours ^ | 09/17/13 | Friends of Ours

The tragic mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard has brought out the opportunistic ghouls from the sick left including Senator Diane Feinstein who are standing on the victims' corpses as bully pulpits from which to preach their anti-gun agenda as reported by Ben Wolfgang for The Washington Times:

"Popular conservative blogger and former CNN commentator Erick Erickson admonished the rush to politicize the shooting, saying 'seriously people, grow up. I would not dare step in the way of America's national pastime of bitching about the politics of everything on Twitter, but there has to be a better time for it than as the temperature of bodies on the ground in the Navy Yard are not even yet cold,' he said. 'If you don't have the judgment and good sense to understand that now is not the time to say it, you have no capacity to understand why.'"

Of course, if the liberal politicians really wanted to prevent mass murder perhaps they should address its underlying causes rather than demonize the employed instrumentality. Although Feinstein and her hysterical ilk want to blame the gun something else likely is the culprit.

Guns -- including the unfairly maligned so-called assault rifle and high-capacity ammo clips -- long have been around but only recently has there been a tragic uptick in mass shootings as reported by Mother Jones: "since 1982, there have been at least 62 mass shootings across the country," and "twenty-five of these mass shootings have occurred since 2006, and seven of them took place in 2012."

Curiously, within this same period the use of pyschotropic drugs by Americans has skyrocketed, and in all of these mass shootings "the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful pyschotrop drugs or had been at some point in the immediate past before they committed their crimes" as reported by Dan Roberts for AmmoLand: "multiple credible scientific studies going back more then a decade, as well as internal documents from certain pharmaceutical companies that suppressed the information show that SSRI drugs ( Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors ) have well known, but unreported side effects, including but not limited to suicide and other violent behavior."

Indeed, Washington Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis had a long history of violent and otherwise bizarre behavior, and was "treated" for a variety of mental illnesses including paranoia, a sleep disorder and hearing voices as reported by the Daily Mail.

It's not guns who kill people. It's not even people who kill people. It's nut jobs who kill people, and blowhard liberals should focus on the mentally ill and their pharmaceutical treatments rather than the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens in confronting mass shootings.

More gun control only means more control over guns that are already under lawful control.

When Trayvon was shot, the elite wanted the Hispanic white shooter punished.

When the shooter was black, the elite want the largely white law abiding gun owners punished.

Why this relentless attack on white people?

Well Hussein was scheduled to have Latin music night in the WH.(were White Hispanics included there? but I digress)
It was cancelled at the last minute and only because people like Glen Beck were talking about it.

...and now the overriding question, the color of the victims.

Anyone headed in that direction? (Crickets)

Those who dispute the idea that gun control proponents are ghouls need only to look at the knee-jerk reaction from this incident before the FACTS came in:

Robin Abcarian: http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-the-navy-yard-shooting-gun-control-20130916,0,4325340.story

Diane Feinstein: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/16/gun-control-debate_n_3937341.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

Henry Winkler: http://www.mediaite.com/online/gun-control-fight-already-underway-over-washington-navy-yard-shooting/

Susan Milligan: http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/susan-milligan/2013/09/17/the-navy-yard-shooting-and-gun-violence-as-the-new-normal

etc.

Feinstein called for a "thoughtful discussion"? Really?

It was a dog whistle for the loony left.

***It’s not guns who kill people.***

This was known over 2000 years go.

I never understand this.

Yes, I understand that there are those more liberal than me.

Yes, I understand that there are those who want stricter gun control laws.

Yes, I understand that with freedom of speech, that such people have the right to speak out on issues.

But, I feel that there is a time and a place for everything. The carnage is not yet cleared away, and already the liberals are getting out there pushing gun control. There is a lack of civility, a lack of standards, a lack of common decency on the left.

The time and place to have the gun control debate is not in the aftermath of a tragedy such as this. Yet, that is what the left is going to do. They and their henchmen in the media will foist this debate on us yet again, at an inappropriate time.

Can’t we say our prayers for the victims and leave the gun control debate for another time????

There are some things in America today yo can always be sure of:

1) Tragedies like this will always occur and would happen even if we confiscated all legally owned firearms.

2) Everytime events like this occur, freaks like Barrack Hussein Obama and Diane Feinstein will appear to attack the rights of law abiding citizens

3) Nothing will come of that as long as our collective anger and outrage, as exprssed to the Congress and state legislatures exceeds theirs. But OBAMA will always try to do what he has been most successful at - governing without the Constitution by issuing Czarist Ukazes - and that is a serious matter - ON MANY SUBJECTS.

Gee whiz: when a drunk driver kills someone we don’t blame the car. When an airplane crash kills psople we don’t blame trhe airplane. So why, when some nut kills people wkith a gun, do we blame the gun?

Think about it... libtards don’t wait a second to exploit a crisis, real or perceived. Why? Because the general public has the attention span of the average house fly on crack. As a result, they jump on every opportunity to pervert the “facts” to push their evil and demented agenda. Pray for the victims...? You actually believe libtards pray? To what?

And yet at the same time Obama is arming Al-Quaeda in Syria.

Someone in the press corps has to ask Jay Carney if the Syrian rebels will also have to go through background checks before receiving American arms.

It's coming out that no "assault rifle" was involved, just a shotgun and two handguns.

All subject to spin, of course!

The people who could have prevented this shooting in the beginning would have been legal concealed carry persons. Of course, none of those are allowed in government buildings.

And the legally armed people all have easy to identify uniforms and were the first to lose their guns to the perp.

Yeah. Let's give guns to muzzie terrorists, Mexican drug lords and take them away from our own citizens. Look at the massacres of unarmed citizens in their countries.

Obama lectures us “infidels” not to judge Islam because of the actions of `a few lunatics’.

Yet he wants all gun owners judged because of the actions of a few lunatics.

They can’t wait until the smoke clears. Their whole strategy hinges on convincing people that we need gun control while they are emotionally compromised and not thinking rationally.
