Your criticism of Abbott is off base. Consider the source.
He has a consistent history of defending TX against Obozo’s DC minions. He has my vote.

I’m not putting to much stock in no debates this early either. I, for one am glad.
The election is over a year away. There will probably be the same number of debates as always...three if I recall recent years.
Then the debate/s with whoever wins the primary with the D candidate.
I doubt if anyone would watch a debate this early...unless it would be us political junkies.
I guess I know where he stands on states rights.

Exactly, which is why I don't get all the clamor from the OP to get Abbott to debate Pauken. Unless, of course, he's trying to get Pauken noticed.
I had no idea who the guy was, until the OP began crying about Abbott not debating him.

I tend to agree. I guess there is nothing wrong with that as long as it is done in a respectful manner that doesn’t go on attack to an opponent with a good prior track record.
I like to remember that Cruz didn’t have the name recognition or war chest that Dewhurst had. We know how that story ended. :)
If Pauken is the real deal and better than Abbott..he’ll have his chance to prove it.
