Over a period of years from the late 1990s into the middle 2000s, Classmates grew at a steady pace. It got to a point where one could find many of their old friends on there. The members were easily in the millions, if not tens of millions and they were getting close to achieving the state of "critical mass" important for a company to obtain web dominance.

Everything seemed to be going well and the future looked favorable for Classmates. But in the background, over a period of years two companies known as..."

Yahoo bought them out and then shut them down. But they pioneered the social media thingy.

You place a negative feedback on Yelp and there are times (most) that it goes to the “unfiltered” bin, which doesn’t count on the overall rating of a person/business/company. The explanation is that there are people paid to give Yelp feedback, and the system does not which is legit or not.

I don’t see Yelp as a threat to AL.

The business model of Angie’s List may be a bigger threat to Angie’s List. I think they will survive but their market cap should go from the current $1.3 billion to about $300 million.

My theory has always been that the feds recruited Zuckerberg from Harvard to make Facebook. It sounds crazy, but it is a highly efficient way to gain info on anybody without needing to invest any time or effort.

I’ve been saying the same thing for several years. I believe it’s run by the government. NSA types scanning it constantly, looking for code words. I was called a “dumb POS” by someone ON FACEBOOK, when I said the government uses FB to spy on us. I have no idea what he’s thinking today. Probably not much. I truly believe he’s retarded.

I doubt very many people would sign up on a government website and post info like is done on FB. Then again, more people than is on FB voted for obama.

I guess I’m a sap because I still have FB. I figure that they already have all the info they need about me from FR.
