Silver Sol (ASAP, Guardian Silver, American Biotics) cures shingles. The ASAP gel does the trick. It also cures MRSA.
My mother had it on her back, but you can get it on your face & near your eyes which can case real trouble.
I’ve known three people that had shingles, including my younger brother and my mother. I had chicken pox when a child, then in my late 30s I got (of all things) German measles. Still don’t know where they came from. I wonder if that makes me a bigger target for shingles? I’m still debating about getting the vaccine.
No chance taking here...Last Fall we did an entire ripe off and put down a pretty classy metal roof....Snow just slides right off!
If I ever get it I am going to strip nekkid and spray my body down with a complete bottle of lysol...
Just kidding!!!!!!!!11
From Shingle Prevention Advocate site;

51-55% if over 60
effectivness of vaccine past 5 years is unknown at this time

if you live to 85 your chances of getting it are 50%

if you get shingles after you have had the vaccine symptoms and damage are less than without the vaccine
If you have a lasting excruciating pain, and you start seeing a rash (red splotches), go to the doctor. You may have shingles.
It happens primarily if you have overstressed your body in one way or another. Two years ago, I had been working physically hard, and going through emotional stress at the same time.
The pain was in my left shoulder blade. Even if I laid back on a soft pillow, it felt like a knife in my shoulder. I lost the use of my left arm for a while. Could not lift it, write or or eat with it.
I still primarily use my right arm because there is still a burning sensation in my left arm. I can use it more now, and regained my strength in it, but the burning is there all the time. It isn’t terrible, but it’s a reminder to take it easy.

Apparently shingles is fairly prevalent. My dad (in his 80’s) got a mild case of it a year or so ago but recovered reasonably quickly. However, an older lady I knew who was already in ill health got a bad case of it, very very painful, and died a few days later of a heart attack. Her daughter has told me she really thought her mom’s death was hastened by the stress of the shingles attack.
I just got rid of a major stress producer in my life, so I'm not as worried about getting it as I once was.
My elderly mother got shingles - pretty much destroyed her vision in one eye. It was a year-long battle between the inflammation and pressure of glaucoma, and the steroids used to battle it. In the end, she lost a cornea.
Had shingles on my face. Felt like someone was slapping me nonstop for days. It consumed my every thought.
I am 40 and had a mild case of chicken pox. Apparently the milder the chicken pox, the more likely of outbreak of shingles.
Glad you are on the upswing, but keep stress down, it can come back.
My Son in Law had shingles while on a year long tour in Afghanistan. He is a Navy guy on an army tour. They made him keep working 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week.
What causes the pain? I thought it was horrible itching?
I want to get the shot this year. My dad had it bad and we never knew how much he suffered from pain until after he died. We found many letters he had written to places trying to get more help. [that was many years ago]
I got a shingles outbreak every 6 months to a year for about 12 years when I was middle aged. It was a nerve pain thing around my midsection and sometimes accompanied by some small, red pustules around a small portion of my waist. The first two or three days were the most painful but the outbreak usually cleared up after 4-6 days. I never sought treatment and just put up with it when it occurred. I was in the mortgage business during that time but don’t remember it being a time of particular stress. I have not had an outbreak in at least 25 years now and don’t have an explanation as to why. But I’m glad I don’t have it as an issue anymore. At 65, I have other more pressing health issues to deal with.
Been there, done that.
Also bit by a brown recluse and attacked by a pit bull.
Survived them all.
Yea, I have superpowers.
