Here’s my favorite episode of “Land of the Lost”

As a child in the 1970s, I always enjoyed watching “Land of the Lost” on Saturday morning. As an adult, I like the show even more. This is an intelligent science fiction program that makes you think, and is never dumbed down (except for season 3, which is so horrible that it never should have been made).

Here is my favorite episode – “Elsewhen” from season 1.

For possibly obvious reasons the show creeped me out.

I felt, then and now, as if I were getting a secondhand dose of hallucinogenics.

Catchy theme tune though.

The only thing I remember about it was there was a really really hot blonde on it.

Actually, that’s Joe Biden’s ancestor. Same browline, more hair.

Detroit Piston’s All-Star, Bill Laimbeer, was a slezak in his youth.

Even as a kid I thought this show was cheesy.

My daughter LOVED that show too. She used to pretend she was Holly. I remember one Saturday at a club cookout at the lake (she was 4 or five years old), she wore her red checked blouse and her hair was in braids and she went around introducing herself as Holly to everyone she met. I only found out when people stated telling me.... “Your daughter Holly is adorable”.... confusing the heck out of me because her name was not Holly.

D.C. Fontana wrote this episode. She also wrote the best episodes of the original Star Trek.
