You know, the old staple of “haves and have-nots” has become so common place in sci-fi films, it’s not even considered political anymore, no wonder Damon thought it wasn’t political.
At any rate, I’ll still wait till video. If it’s low on action (which I heard it is), I’m in rush to see it. Damon is a big negative for me. I waited many years for the Bourne Trilogy to get to video, I can wait for this.

The original still had the coolest Robot and the coolest Spaceship IMHO.
I loved the scene with all the Doctors at Walter Reed talking about the miracle healing “salve” that Klatu gave them while they were sitting there smoking unfiltered Cigarettes.

Cuba Gooding Jr is in it. He was great in Men of Honor and Jerry Maguire. I heard that Jane is in it for about 10 minutes. The movie is about an African American Butler that served 10 Administrations. It is going to be a great movie. Most likely sweep the Oscars next year. It is a true story.

Your library is full of free DVDs and gets new ones all the time.
Some public libraries are starting to stream movies online, also.

Saw it today. It was O.K. It’s message is the haves and their servants (the military, CIA types) are evil. The poor, even thieves and killers are likable even noble. And the evil wealthy exploit and kill all their lessors. No message here, please move on.

Hope you mean the 1951 TDTESS with Michael Rennie instead of Kenau Reeves. Fer sure. Heh, I read your note and thought, "Keanu Reeves? Never heard of it!" Then I looked it up and realized I saw it! I guess you could call that "forgettable".

Nope. Another White Liberal Guilt Movie:
"The film takes place on both a ravaged Earth and a luxurious space habitat called Elysium. It explores political and sociological themes such as immigration, health care and class issues. When asked whether the film reveals how he sees Earth turning out in 140 years, director Blomkamp responded "No, no, no. This isn't science fiction. This is today. This is now."

In 2154, two classes of people exist: the wealthy, who live on an advanced space station called Elysium, built by the Armadyne Corporation; and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Jessica Delacourt (Jodie Foster), deciding to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium at all costs, employs vicious South African mercenary Kruger (Sharlto Copley) to eliminate the illegal immigrants attempting to reach Elysium and use its advanced Med-Pods.

Thanks for your review, I loved that movie District 9 and flame me if you like but hubby and I really like Matt Damon, as an actor, esp. in the Bourne movies.I saw the first Bourne movie, The Bourne Orgasm, whatever it was, and I was particularly irked by the scene on the boat where the African leader guy was the target and had this giant touching scene with his kids on his yacht. Right.

I really don’t see the appeal of Matt Damon. I think he is kind of a boring actor.

I caught the liberal agenda just watching the trailer. How could you not see the propaganda?
To: beebuster2000
Hollywood is almost incapable of doing a really good movie. It is a case of garbage in (the beliefs and attitudes of the creators), garbage out. They are great at special effects, and that’s about it. Considering the huge amount of money spent, very little quality product is generated.
To: beebuster2000
i still don;t hand my money directly to these liberal losers.
besides it’s not like the storyline is super original or anything we haven’t read in the last fifty years of science fiction stories.
