The Real Traitors to America Are In Washington and NY(Not Snowden in Moscow)
Nation of Change ^ | July 1, 2013 | Dave Lindorff

Posted on 07/01/2013 12:24:09 PM PDT by Veto!

....the real traitors who have done so much to destroy America are buying politicians of both parties, using their undue influence to gut any effort at real regulation, all the while earning fat bonuses in their corner offices at megabanks like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citi Group, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo. No need to extradite those guys in order to prosecute 'em. They're right here in the USA. All that's lacking is a will to bring charges for things like mortgage fraud, derivative fraud, collusion, lying under oath, etc. But Obama's attorney general, Eric Holder, a former corporate lawyer himself, has already declared that he will not prosecute Wall Street's banks for their frauds in bringing down the US economy.

My leftie friend sent me this link to very good op-ed piece. Amazing how it agrees with our thoughts about Snowden, the NSA, the traitors Obama, Holder, and Biden, and the Big Banks' culpability for the economic downturn.

I'm seeing people from all over the political spectrum waking up to the hideous damage our gubmint is doing to the nation, the constituion, and to mainstream Americans. Wonder whether the next election will find enough common ground between left and right to elect someone who has the bests interests of the Middle Class at heart. Maybe wishful thinking, but I do wish...

Don’t forget the traitors in the public schools and universities. The lamp posts of the country need to be decorated with these leftist vermin!

If the SHTF there will be many decorated lamp posts and overpasses. There will also be a shortage of tar and feathers

You might be surprised to hear this but the left and the right ultimate goals are same thing in the end. A system that doesn't have favoritism or corruption.

The difference is on how we implement that.

Which is trusting the people to work out their differences or big brother.

The measure of Snowden being a traitor is not what he made public to American but what has he given China and Russia to not be extradited back to the USA.

#3: "Don’t forget the traitors in the public schools and universities."

Don't forget the leftist lamestream media. That's why they're called the fifth-column fourth estate, who are as evil as the Third Reich.

Um, that’s an online newspaper as far as I know. I don’t give a hoot about “hits,” and you are missing the point that both left and right concur, for a change, on a very important issue. We’ve discussed the new similarities between left and right thinking many times here at FR.

A really talented political operative might find a way to unite people to vote for a strong candidate who would actually uphold the constitution. Cutting across left/right barriers would be necessary.

But there are so very many social issues in the way, right, 1rudeboy?

On both sides.

If you have any idea how to solve that dilemma, you might make a serious contribution to the future of this country. As it is, the social issues get all of the attention, all of the press, all of the passion of the people while little things like the constitution and the economy are more or less ignored by most people.

Not saying that social issues are not important. Of course they are. But are they the business of government? Questioning myself, perhaps I’m becoming a Libertarian. Perhaps.

What I know for sure is that the country is circling the drain.

Indeed. The real traitors are those who are calling Snowden a traitor!

If you find yourself agreeing with Chomsky-like Marxists, yer doin' somethin' wrong. And spare me the bullcrap about blind squirrels, stopped clocks, and whatnot. If you spent five minutes with the author of this piece, you would find yourself telling him to shove it.

If you didn't, then you are the problem.

Absolutely, the schools are a mess. I’m not condoning leftist views here, merely point out there are many points on which we agree. Four years ago, there were none. Now people everywhere are waking up to the damage caused to both left and right by our corrupt government and financial institutions and are calling for an overhaul.

How can that agreement be harnessed and steered toward getting this country back on it’s economic feet?

Reminds me of Taibbi’s Rolling Stones columns that explore similar subjects. He is a Lefty but he understands where the real traitors are and no one is currently doing more to expose them.

As long as the so-called Left and Right are making huge sums of money, at our expense, there is no incentive to fix our broken government.

I’m less worried about the economy than I am our souls and our national birthright. Absent a firm moral foundation we can have all the prosperity in the world and we will not be free.

You’re probably right about telling him to shove it. I’ll for sure spare you the bullcrap. But I wonder how YOU would convince voters from the left and right to elect an honest, economy-savvy president who is NOT OWNED by the banksters?

Because I think that’s what it’s going to take. Further division is going to make the whole thing worse than it is today.

As far as I know, the Banksters and their ilk are seriously into “divide and conquer.”

There is some common ground between left and right. I think both sides would like to see the power of the elites in government and big business diminished.

We need to convince those on the left that our side will do more to protect them from the big bad guys than theirs will.

In the meantime, the elites in government and the big corporations sit comfortably in their high places and laugh as the little people on the right and left fight it out amongst themselves.

You're absolutely right...But does it have to be either/or?

How can we have a firm moral foundation PLUS an economy that works for, rather than against, the middle class?

Good thinking. Let's hope that's possible.

Huh? Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank weren't real regulation?

Incredibly naive and disingenuous statement.

Conservatives want a government with very limited powers. Conservatives desire a marketplace of citizens freely voting with their dollars deciding which companies flourish and which fail.

Conservatives abhor the nanny state and crony capitalism.

The left rabidly worships at the Alter of State Power.

The left seek absolute control over all aspects of our lives.

The left has no problem with stealing from others -- through the welfare state, regulations, high taxes or crony capitalism.

You cannot be more wrong to state the left and right have the same goals.
