To those that say it’s not worth it over Politics; it is unfortunately. Politics is life and politics will dictate how you and your family live. It’s no longer just disagreeing about tax policy or foreign matters anymore.
A real war is going on here and we are getting our butts kicked pretty good right now.
Low information voters indeed. I don’t think my sister follows politics at all. I think she does and says what her husband says. We were raised in a conservative family. And my sister’s daughter is a public school teacher. My guess is it is really coming from her. I love them but I will not bow to family pressure to shut up. I hate Obama and I do not care who knows it or who disagrees with me.
Welcome to the club.........
My kids know how I feel.....too!!
HA!!!
I really had no idea that Obama had caused so many family riffs. I think it makes him happy.
FUBO
Mom and I are conservative Christians. She recognizes our constitutional second amendment rights to firearms, but has some ambivalence about “assault weapons.” Her grandparents were Quakers. Go figure.
Male parental unit abdicated his family responsibilities when I was quite young. Nevertheless... complete and utter !fail! for neglecting to teach his daughter to shoot while he was still around; double fail for being from *Texas* and neglecting to teach his daughter to shoot. Seriously.
My two brothers are a mix. Both are sharp cookies, although neither are Christians.
Younger brother has some pretty odd ideas, but has worked in IT for an industry the last few years that seems to be giving him an earful about practical economics.
Older brother went through a trade union apprenticeship, recognizes that the unions are corrupt, but feels indebted to them. Or something.
The union can’t provide enough jobs in his industry, and yet pushes its apprenticeship program like the market is booming. Members who have been out of work the longest get first dibs on available jobs, but they only last a few weeks or months, and then they go to the back of the waiting line again.
They’re screwing him over; he knows it; his friends know it, but... he won’t hear it, from anyone.
Older brother isn’t registered to vote, and we don’t encourage him to register. Usually.
Family gatherings can be interesting. Any and all topics are on the table, and people often get upset, sometimes spectacularly so.
Why can’t people just let others have an opinion if is based on fact? No one should try to silence those they disagree with. But that is what liberals do. Tolerance is a one way street.
