So we need to ask

Have there been any folks that were born in Hawaii that, since april ‘11, have had any difficulty getting their lfbc from the state, in order to get a passport.

Or for anything else that needs it, such as a security clearance.

Similar to what 5thGenTexan’s wife encountered (even tho born in Texas)

And get info as to exactly when the problems, if any, were encountered.

If folks can still get their old style lfbc’s, then that is one more nail in the case.

Update on why my wife's BC was not OK for passport: it was issued more than 1 year pat her birth, which is called out in the BC requirements (must be issued within 1 year, or certified from state will be needed).

So, a word to new parents, get the paperwork done in a timely manner. I know the SSN stuff gets handled while in the hospital now at least here, and was happening when our kids were born (30 years ago).
