Update on why my wife's BC was not OK for passport: it was issued more than 1 year pat her birth, which is called out in the BC requirements (must be issued within 1 year, or certified from state will be needed).

So, a word to new parents, get the paperwork done in a timely manner. I know the SSN stuff gets handled while in the hospital now at least here, and was happening when our kids were born (30 years ago).

How did the first BC she used show that it was filed a year or more after her birth? Did it have a notation saying that, or was there a filing date that showed it, both, or what?
