One of the most dramatic moments in the history of congressional hearings. She thought she was all done only to discover that her legal nightmare is only just beginning.

I really wonder how the left is looking at this -

on the one hand, they have to be ecstatic that their wet dreams are coming true - the government is being used to oppress their political enemies.

But, on the other hand, they have to be a bit cautious because this exposes their beloved gov’t as the less-than-benevolent entity that we know it is.

Rules don’t apply to liberals.. Only to conservatives. Liberals are allowed to say whatever they want, and then be free of having to defend those statements. A microcosm of the entire liberal philosophy, in full public view at the hearing.

I personally found the Easter egg roll comment to be a high point when Backed up by Trey Gowdy asking Schulman if he knew he was under oath.

This lady has one of the top D.C. lawyers giving her advice. So if she messed up then so did he.

Color me skeptical.

Consider what happens if Issa calls her back to the stand and demands that she testify on those items covered by her Opening Statement on Wednesday's session.

She will refuse based on her 5th Amendment rights
Issa will have to go to court to force her to testify
Issa will probably lose that case
Lois the Fifth will gain time
Lois the Fifth will gain sympathy from the MSM and the Dems
Issa will be accused of “overreaching”

Does that sound good?
Is this a trap for Issa?

Too bad - she blew it.

Lois Lerner is the slowest learner.

She . . . invoked the Fifth.

After she had imbibed a fifth.

You should post on their site (pretending to be a libtard) “Hey guys we should be against obama and the IRS doing this because next time a Republican is in charge they can do the same thing to us”

See if ANY common sense sinks in

Good on Gowdy for showing cods.

Unfortunately, this is an investigation, not a trial. So yes, she can invoke at any time.

Gowdy said what she “ought” to do.

Don’t laugh, but I believe the next development will be a pardon by Obama for Lerner and the rest for any crimes they committed. This will stop the Congressional hearings dead. Obama’s approval among his idiot worshippers will carry him through.

That's what Mrs Lerner gets for hiring Lionel Hutz, Attorney-at-Law and Shoemaker, to represent her.

I'm no expert, and I don't know if this applies to testifying before Congress as opposed to a criminal trial, but this is interesting:

If you are ever charged with a crime and your case goes to trial, it is important to know that you do not have to testify. In fact, if your testimony would incriminate you in any way, it may be in your best interest to invoke your Fifth Amendment right. Keep in mind, however, that pleading the fifth applies to your entire testimony—this means that you cannot choose to answer some questions and refuse to answer others.

The funny thing to me about Lois - 'I take the 5th, sort of' - Lerner, isn't that she said she was doing it, "on the advise of Counsel". Nope. But that old Lois is the same 'senior Internal Revenue Service official' who said to the media and all the world on May 10, 2013 that...
"I'm not good at Math, I'm a Lawyer."

Which statement was immediately met with much laughter and people falling off chairs and rolling around on the floor. After all any 'senior Internal Revenue Service official' should be able to; add 2+2 and get 4, subtract 5 from 10, what the Cube Root of 9 is, and know the value of pi (π) (two decimal places, min).

But lo and behold now we find that not only isn't she 'good at math', she isn't any good at 'Lawyering' either. So her Counsel's advice aside, any Lawyer knows you can't Testify then invoke the 5th when it's time for 'Cross'. You 'invoke' when you sit down then shut up.
