I’ll never understand those folks...
Even if I were a moist-finger-in the wind, follow the crowd liberal, I cannot understand how they are ‘freaked’ out and hate conservatives. I could understand them thinking we’re ‘uncool’, ‘behind the times’, ‘sticks in the mud’, etc... but don’t understand the outright hatred.

I could be completely wrong but I’ve always thought it’s an act for many of them and analogous to hating a rival football. I don’t think it is based on rational thought because they are not rational. Whatever it is is some sort of emotional reaction

Such an irrational statement, if you think about it.
A conservative, by definition, is a person who distrusts radical change, preferring the status quo and in many cases favoring a return to proven and effective systems instead of changing to speculative and questionable ones.
This being said, calling someone a “radical conservative” is thus an oxymoron.
And if someone likes the status quo so much that they are don’t want to change, saying that they are “really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really not wanting to change”, sounds downright foolish.
However, there *are* degrees to radicalism and leftism. Those who are “a little” liberal are very different indeed from those who are so radical they want to destroy the world, or wipe out humanity to save it.
Thus they are very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very irrational and hateful, to the point of being a threat to themselves or others, a definition of insane.
