This past November (after Election Day), White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters that “The White House and the State Department have made clear that the single adjustment that was made to those talking points by either of those two institutions were changing the word ‘consulate’ to ‘diplomatic facility’ because ‘consulate’ was inaccurate.”
Remarkably, Carney is sticking with that line even now. In his regular press briefing on Friday afternoon (a briefing that was delayed several times, presumably in part so the White House could get its spin in order, but also so that it could hold a secretive pre-briefing briefing with select members of the White House press corps), he said:
The only edit made by the White House or the State Department to those talking points generated by the C.I.A. was a change from referring to the facility that was attacked in Benghazi from “consulate,” because it was not a consulate, to “diplomatic post”… it was a matter of non-substantive factual correction. But there was a process leading up to that that involved inputs from a lot of agencies, as is always the case in a situation like this and is always appropriate.

I’ve seen some weak attempts to say that the state department official who initially complained, Nuland was not in on the actual drafting but Sullivan, aid to Clinton, was. So that holds no credibility whatsoever.
If the WH press core had any guts or ethics, they would all stand up and walk out in protest on this little twerp's next press conference.
What, is Carney bent, too?
Carney is just a low rent, white boy willing to take the all heat for a Chicago gangsta and make sure the gangsta’s fingerprints are no where to be found on anything. How can anyone in their right mind ever respect someone like that?

It is a blatant lie by omission. So what if it was the CIA did the actual edits. It was done at the explicit direction of the WH and State.
The path in those edits from truth to fairy tale is breathtaking even for this bunch. I think that is what has the MSM somewhat up in arms.
The question that should be asked is what else is the WH lying to the American people about?

It's nearing that point but there will yet likely be a way around truth. In the mean time the MSM employees will use the ruse of real journalism. Developing . . . .
They keep concentrating on the talking points and ignoring the big one; why could they not rescue those people over the course of a five-hour firefight and why was the military told to stand down?
