Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw may soon receive $1 million from the state of Florida to set up a new violence prevention unit, but his recent comments encouraging people to turn in their neighbors are causing a firestorm.
“We want people to call us if the guy down the street says he hates the government, hates the mayor and he’s gonna shoot him,” Bradshaw told The Palm Beach Post. “What does it hurt to have somebody knock on a door and ask, ‘Hey, is everything OK?’ ”
“How are they possibly going to watch everybody who makes a comment like that? It’s subjective,” said Liz Downey, executive director of Palm Beach County's National Alliance on Mental Illness. “We don’t want to take away people’s civil liberties just because people aren’t behaving the way we think they should be.”
However, Senate budget chief Joe Negron (R) said he “got assurances from the sheriff that this is going to be done in a way that respects people’s autonomy and privacy, and that he makes sure to protect against people making false claims.”
“We know how to sift through frivolous complaints,” stated Bradshaw.

Slowly but surely the noose tightens.
Wasn’t this guy just granted $1,000,000.00 for a crime prevention program? He’s really feeling his oats! A-hole.
And knock down the door.
And shoot their dog.
And throw the person down to be hog-tied in front of his family.
And take away that person's firearms.
And detain that person at some mental institution because there aren't any applicable charges to be filed.
And on and on.

Sure thing, sheriff. GFY.
We should all show up at his office at once. I mean, all of us.

...with the brown shirt mentality he’s giving people they should be quite busy knocking on doors.
Perhaps I’m finally in deep doo-doo with the central socialist government that rules and ruins our lives and those who denigrate it do so at their own peril.
If this be treason, make the most of it.
Hundreds of locals should call to say they hate the sheriff for hating the constitution.
There used to be limits on what government could do and what the role of government was.
Sadly, no more.
1984 has just arrived, a little late but still here.
And CA is going to spend $24,000,000 of “excess funds” to forcibly take firearms away from those not eligible to own them, like people with bad medical reports against them.
