PORTLAND, Maine — Stephen King and his wife have made a donation to a Maine group advocating for stricter gun control laws.

King says the gift was "five figures" but doesn't want to say more about it because "charity's supposed to be a private thing."

The Coalition for a Safer Maine says King is a gun owner and a defender of the Second Amendment who supports expanded background checks on gun sales and a ban on the sale of high-capacity ammunition magazines.....

Maine is 98% White.

Where the liberals live one doesn’t need guns

“”charity’s supposed to be a private thing.”

It’s not charity, you overrated liberal buffoon. It’s a political contribution. Yeah, I met this ass clown here in Hollywood when he was trying to sell his script months ago and no takers due to budget issues.

Charity is private, treason is another thing altogether.

I stopped supporting Steven King long ago. It’s still clearly a good decision.

Well the ideas in his books come from some dark recesses somewhere in his cranial matter and soul

King does a lot of good with his money. For instance, a zillion years ago (when I was still in school), a new roof / addition / renovation was put on the Bangor Public Library. $3 million, from an "Anonymous" donor. Yeah, right.

He financed the Swim Team at UMaine when it got de-funded. City Parks, Little League Ballfields, and I'm sure there are plenty more instances that I'm not aware of. So, the guy is not afraid to do good with his money.

But not this time, unfortunately.

Well the ideas in his books...

I read a piece that showed how all (all!!!) of his books tie together. They're all a part of the same world, and all of the characters are interwoven. For instance, the cook (a main character) in "The Shining" was also a small character in a flashback in "It".

Smart guy, to invent a world completely from scratch, and keep track of every little piece in it, correctly. For what, 40-odd years and likely 10's of thousands of pages?

The smart guy didn’t invent the concept of tying his books together. He lifted the idea from Robert Heinlein, the Grandmaster of Science Fiction - and while he was at it he lifted dozens, if not hundreds of plot elements from Heinlein.

His assistant, Robin Furth (author of “The Dark Tower Concordances”) is the “smart guy” behind King’s keeping track of his interwoven characters and plots. She spent many decades compiling, cross-referencing and keeping his continuity straight and his ducks in a row. By his own admissions, King couldn’t have done it alone. King’s worlds are rooted in Heinlein’s “omniverse” concepts, coverging timelines and time-travel paradox stories.

I admire King’s work up to a point, but he got lazy and worthlessly liberal. “The Stand” is his masterpiece and he went downhill from there. He lost all concept of Good vs. Evil and became a relativist. On Gun-control, he’s a hypocrite. In the late 90’s he confronted a stalker in his driveway and after the guy left he went inside so rattled that he loaded his gun.

If all of his works are I electronic format which I would certainly think they are he probably just looks at some of the material he wrote previously and expands on it. I have thousands of reports back from the late 80’s to present saved that I do searches on whenever I’m asked about someone I’ve worked on before. It looks through all the text in the reports and returns the results that match...and some guys think I just have a good memory. Little do they know...lol

“Did he impress you as a weirdo? He certainly looks like one.”

Working in Hollywood, I have met almost every known “eccentric” or self-proclaimed “creative” person in the biz. Funny thing, he starts babbling in gibberish about a story concept and even though we are ALL used to hearing far fetch stories, he had the worst ones.
