Conservatives are familiar with the debate about immigration and the welfare state. There's nothing wrong with welcoming many more immigrants, many of them will argue, as long as they aren't going on the dole. Or alternatively, some will hold that as long as there's so much government dependency, we'd be crazy to increase immigration levels.
The Rubio immigration bill is mindful of this debate, and is suitably tough on newly legalized immigrants receiving benefits...But this creates an unintended consequence. If you're a low-skilled worker looking for a job, the combination of Obamacare and the Rubio bill could put you at a disadvantage in the labor market against newly legalized immigrants...

Sounds like the 8 Gangstas have got their boots on our throats and are going to shove this down our throats. La Raza wants this “immigration reform” bill really bad.
So do the rats.
They will get 8 to 2 new voters.
It’s the end of the republicans and they are stupid enough to pass it. I just hope the house will kill it.
The question to ask is what’s in it for the leaders of this including La Raza? It certainly is not there to help people of any nationality.
Thanks The Old Hoosier.

I think we need to follow the money.
I don’t believe the facts in the article are correct. While Blue Card or Visa immigrants are not eligible for benefits under Obamacare, they do count in the determination of number of employees toward the 50. Also, if an employee obtains coverage through an exchange and a penalty of $3,000 per employee is assessed the penalty is also paid for the immigrants even though they are not covered. So no benefit to hiring an immigrant except you don’t have to pay the employer’s share of FICA and FUTA.
I should set up a live web cam to show how we are being screwed.
I have them 2 doors down from me. Early 20’s, no job in the last several years, young kids, always have plenty of cigs, police called numerous times.
Don’t call me racis.
They are very white.
And... they do not care what you or me think of them.
The states have never delegated to Congres via the Constitution the specific powers to regulate, tax and spend for either public healthcare or immigration purposes, both issues 10th Amendment protected state power issues.
not stupidity. Rino/Rats is what they are.
Don’t worry.. Once “legalized” the push to make it “fair” by allowing them to vote and use the “safety net” will come in to play.
Fair - when the libs use that word, you know it is anything but fair.
And their safety net is what imprisons the rest of us. Socialism makes sure nobody gets a chance to get ahead.
