I have to wonder if the goodness and love preached in Christianity also dooms us when we face outright evil here on earth. We try to hard to be tolerant - hoping our good and peaceful ways will affect and convert evil and that does happen but not often enough.

Not that I will change my basic beliefs but I think we have to abandon this coexist crap.

I believe it is misinterpretation of Christian doctrine that is killing us by undermining our power of resistance. For example, one always hears “Judge not that ye be not judged.” Yet, later in the gospels it says “"Judge just judgment" an entirely common sense meaning. The bible is filled with judgment: i.e.this is good, that is bad” etc. etc. Yet we have milquetoast preachers and laity screaming “Don't Judge.” (Curious how the secular preach Judge not from the bible yet ignore the biblical strictures against Sodomy.)
