What would leftist extremists know about terrorism? Communist and socialist regimes have murdered over 200 million of their own citizens during the past century; that’s in addition to starting and waging wars that cost another 100 million or more people their lives.

This bombing was not against a US government facility, and therefore it can be concluded that “right wingers” as understood by the left, probably are not involved. There would be no gain from killing innocents, and only innocents, if the goal was to send some anti-government message.
Al-Qaida’s signature has never been remote detonation, they favor suicide bombings. The only bombing that I can think of that included remote detonation, that was blamed on Islamists, was the Spanish train bombings. I still am not sure about the conclusion there.
So, by process of elimination, this one seems like a retaliation, perhaps for the collateral innocents killed by American drones in the ME. Quite possibly it could have to do with either Iraq, Lybia, or Syria, if not Afghanistan.
To me, all the evidence points toward a retaliation for what are perceived to be American misdeeds abroad.
