The plot is that it appears that there is a failed attempt to kill the President when the action was the killing of the Pope all along.

Back to Rolls. He may have been logical target given his recent ruling against the adminstration. Offing pro-gun Gabby Giffords would not be bad either in terms of helping the administration.
The autopsy reports indicate a vastly incredible proficient gunman. So proficient that the rumors and reports of multiple gunmen should not be dismissed.

This concerned me as I did not believe that N. Korea, Iran, or any terrorist organization had the capability to strike with an EMP weapon that would disable across our entire country. So I looked for confirmation and did not find it. The one source you provided has not convinced me.
I grew up in the era of the Cuban Missle Crisis, bomb shelters, and weekly bomb drills at school.

I talked at length on this subject with my Son who was Nuclear trained by our military. I know that he could only tell me some of what he knows, but he agreed that the current data does not show this level of danger.

What information I could find on this weapon seemed to chararacterize it as an Enhanced Radiation Weapon with a very limited kill radius. Not a “Country Killer” either.
It floored me when I learned that a shot to the aorta will leave a person dead in 7 seconds. That’s an extremely efficient and deadly shot that hit Judge Roll.
And I have seen people wonder at whether there were more bullets fired than were missing from Loughner’s gun.
The lack of security, the call to Roll’s office on Friday to make sure he knew to meet with Giffords the next day, Dupnik’s immediate claim that Roll had “just stopped in” when he could not have known that, the stuff in the safe - even SIGNED - saying he had planned ahead (well duh...) and including Giffords’ name, the associated suspect that they later said was just a cab driver (and why did Loughner go inside the building to get change if he was planning on the attack)... all this stuff doesn’t add up.
If Giffords was his only target, he would have shot her multiple times to make sure she died, and left the others alone. Like the shooting at Quantico just recently.
But even if Roll wasn’t the intended target, this event sure came in handy for the purpose of having law enforcement say that Obama needed a fake Kapiolani Hospital BC to be safe from these crazy Arizona birthers. Especially since in December Obama had let Lt Col Terry Lakin go to prison for 6 months because it was too far beneath himself to let anybody see the BC that would have “embarrassed” him...

I don’t know if he would know the same about the military. Does our military intelligence know that Russia has NOT aided North Korea with super EMP’s?

At the time, Abercrombie had just been sworn in and hadn’t committed any crime, such as likely firing his own HDOH director for refusing to cover-up the insertion of a forged BC into the vital records.
Abercrombie had total control over security at the vital records archive which could have allowed him to send out Evans with confidence he wouldn’t be exposed by what is (was) in there. This could have enabled him to threaten to destroy Barry if Barry didn’t come across with whatever it was that Abercrombie wanted Barry to do, IMO.

But Abercrombie had gotten Congress to pass a resolution regarding HI’s 50th anniversary of statehood, inserting language about Obama being born there, largely on the basis of his own supposed recollections. If it came out all of a sudden that he had said he really hadn’t seen Obama with his parents as a baby he could be subject to investigation because of that.
He was already under the gun because of a letter that he delivered to Kapiolani Hospital, signed by Barack Obama and having the White House seal. Obama would not admit having sent that letter, so Abercrombie was being hung out to dry on that one if it turns out Obama wasn’t born at Kapiolani - which is precisely what ABercrombie said to Mike Evans, that there was no proof that Obama WAS born at Kapiolani, or Queens, or anywhere in the state. The question was whether Obama really sent that letter claiming a Kapiolani birth (which was used for fund-raising for Kapiolani), or whether Abercrombie had forged it. The revelation that Evans disclosed would mean that either Obama could be charged with perjury for sending the letter, or Abercrombie could be charged with forgery for creating and delivering that letter as if it had the White House seal on it.
In addition to the potential legal consequences, there were the credibility consequences. More than just egg on his face. He had just said very visibly, to NYT, LA Times, and CNN, that this was a personal crusade of his, to crush these terrible people who were staining the honor of Obama’s parents...etc... racists who don’t think Hawaii is a real US state...blah blah blah. To end up having everybody know his outrage was manufactured and he knew he had been lying all along.... makes him non-credible not only in his facts but also in his emotional crusades.
I REALLY don’t think Abercrombie wanted this out there. We already saw that he was willing to spout off at the mouth to the Star-Advertiser columnist, but the columnist was enough of a politician to know to edit out the exact words that Abercrombie had used and simply summarize it as Abercrombie saying there is a recording of Obama’s birth in the State Archives and he was thinking about using that. The columnist had covered for him and I think he expected his good friend to cover for him too.
