Obama Still After Your Guns….Uses Executive Orders To Move Gun Control Forward

2ndamendmentrestrictions

No where is the left's hypocrisy on display more than the 2nd Amendment debate. Check out this Democrat lawmaker:

"As a hunter and gun owner, I will not give up my guns and I will not ask other law-abiding Americans to give up theirs," says Thompson, 62, a former state legislator and eight-term congressman.

But he wants YOU to give up YOUR guns because "it's common sense"

"I know a lot of NRA members and I don't know of any who think they should have the same weapons as the police or military -- or should be able to buy a gun without a background check. What we're hearing from is the real extreme."

..."I'm a gun guy, but I carried an assault weapon in Vietnam. And if I never see another one, it'll be too soon," says the former Army infantryman, who earned a Purple Heart.

Assault weapons "give a bad name to gun owners," Thompson continues. "There are more people who don't own guns than do. If they think all of us gun owners are running around with assault weapons, that's going to do us a real disservice. And we'll just fall out of favor with the voters."

He's a hunter so I'm sure he has one of these:

223hunting

Which is the same EXACT thing as this gun:

223hunting2

Except for one little thing...it looks ssssccccarrrrry.

And us police and military are the only ones who should be allowed to own scary looking guns.

What a disgrace.

Meanwhile The Hill writes about Obama's use of executive order to accomplish gun control by fiat.

The executive steps will give federal law enforcement officials access to more data about guns and their owners, help keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill, and lay the groundwork for future legislative efforts.

...A key factor in strengthening the NICS database, they say, is getting states to report more information on mental health and criminal history records.

Earlier this month, the DOJ announced a $20 million grant program aimed at incentivizing states to submit more mental health and criminal history information into the NICS database.

...Also this month, the White House Office of Management and Budget said it would consider changing rules to make it easier for states to share mental health records with the NICS.

JeffG tears apart the article:

...“privacy concerns” here, with respect to the 2nd Amendment, are characterized as a kind of obstacle, a second obstacle being heretofore a lack of bribe money available to “incentivize” states to sell out the privacy of their citizens. King Obama, blessed be He and His Name, has fixed that, however. By executive fiat.

Moreover, the article suggests, the NRA has been standing athwart common-sense anti-privacy measures yelling stop!– and as a result, bad people have done evil things. Liberty being well and truly overrated if what comes along with are concerns over security, particularly, the government being out of every conceivable monitoring loop to protect us from ourselves.

Yet, the reason the NRA and other civil liberties groups don’t want to give the government access to an inventory of our private property, or details of our health — particularly with respect to our weapons — is not, as this article intimates, that they are pro-crazy people with guns, but rather because they know, as do we, the government to be political, and so its aims and motivations and policy are always going to be driven by ideology and expedience, two dangerous threats to rights that are supposedly out of the purview of man, especially once the checks and balances are removed from the equation.

The assault bat is another option, not a first or second option. Let's say the last bullet takes him down to not moving but not dead. The bat is lethal with one blow. It's an option.

Another option: I have an innocent looking pink pepper spray “gun” (looks like a toy gun) that shoots 20 feet and has a laser on it to help assure hitting the face/eyes. It has foam that won't leave it's target. Once it's on the eyes, it stays there. Has the hottest pepper allowed. It sits innocently in the room as a toy.

I don't have kids here, either.

Ah, excellent^^

I tell ya, I got a faceful of bear spray a number of months ago when I had to spray an unattended pitbull menacing me and my dog late at night.

Even though I convinced the dog to leave after three facefulls of it, Mother Nature decided to give me a sample of my own medicine via the north wind, and wow...2% capsaicin pepper spray is not fun.

I’m not actually sure that it would stop a charging grizzly, but people...yep!

I wanted to drag my face through the wet grass just like the pitbull was doing :D

Hi, Marcella, I love all your good ideas. I have been intending to get a pepper-spray gun and just not getting to it. That one you describe sounds just right - stream if inside. I would love to know your source. Thank you.

"I know a lot of NRA members and I don't know of any who think they should have the same weapons as the police or military -- or should be able to buy a gun without a background check. What we're hearing from is the real extreme."

Then the NRA members you know have no understanding of the 2nd Amendment.

I'll look up that order and post it here - may take a little time to go through the orders, I stick them in a folder on outlook express when I order something.

That gun is the best I've found as it keeps you away from the person. I got extra cartridges. They include one with water in it so you can practice. I'll look now.

Here is the good pepper spray gun on Amazon. This is not a toy - don't let a kid around it. It's a gun with trigger and all. Get a couple of extra cartridges. It's not totally cheap but what you want is results and you can depend on this one.

I forget the world can read what I write. I'm just thinking about the person I am responding to and forget others read it, too. I hope some of what I wrote will help you - and others who might be reading, too. I do a lot of research. I write on a survival website. something about being secure in your persons and property...

pesky thing...4th Amendment?

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized

“secure in their persons” gee...wonder what they met by that?

Ah, I see you have two of the 25-rounders already. I thought of you when I saw a pair of the Ruger BX-25s in my new favorite gun store. For 54 bux each they could be yours - but yowza that’s a lot of money for a piece of plastic!

Realise that’s two dollars per round that one of those magazines will hold!

Regarding the magazines I did buy, I remarked to the seller that for the price they should come pre-filled, LOL.

I got a hot lips one before prices went up; it was about $20. Ordered the Ruger one after they couldn’t be found but figured the company itself would eventually get some. It was in the high twenties and took months to get it.

I’m concerned that guns are being sold like crazy still but there is no ammo to buy. Those guns are clubs until ammo can be found.

I’m finding most calibers I want in dribs & drabs early as possible in the business day... except for 22LR. It is UNREAL how that minescule round is suddenly rare as hen’s teeth.

“except for 22LR. It is UNREAL how that minescule round is suddenly rare as hen’s teeth.”

That surprised me, too, however, a few days ago I read an article that said use that rifle in the house for self defense, that it was the one to have, using hollow points in it. I had come to the decision that's the rifle to have in the house, then just read this article, so maybe other people thought that, too.

By searching on line since January, I've got 600 rounds. I'm sure old timers have thousands of rounds but it's worse than it was in February because I can't find any on line now day after day when I check the various companies.
