Wait! What???

Liberals don’t believe in God, and therefore no afterlife. So, Krugman must be getting desperate with his attacks.

Many might have to do a stretch in the sulfur pits, but I doubt climate change will be the reason...

The goal of people (ok, lunatics) like McKibben is for everybody to live in a Unabomber-type shack or some tiny box in a huge building with electricity running every other day. In short, McKibben is kin to the collectivists and Stalinists of the thirties. No surprise here.

I’m a proud and loyal freeper who has concluded the threat from global warming is probably real. I’ve read a great deal from both sides.

HOWEVER...

Carbon dioxide emissions are at a 20-year low, thanks largely to fracking. Fracking was developed with the help of government research. Also a recent study showed a way to extract energy from coal while capturing 99 percent of the emissions. If we want to avoid being hurt by global warming, the most efficient way to do it is research new means of getting and delivering energy.

Say you tell people “you’ll need to eliminate driving, eat only vegetables and live in tiny huts withouth heating or air conditioning. It’s the only hope of humanity surviving past 2100.” Most people would say “screw humanity after 2100.” A better option would be to do research so we have better choices in the first place.

At least you can go ice fishing. ;>)

There are a few of us around. While I am a skeptic of Global Warming Hysteria, I am also a skeptic of the Denialism that reflexively infects the other side.

I believe that, as the example in your post showed, Technology will lead us to a solution, and we should keep moving forward, instead of backwards, as the ecoweenies would have us do.
