It's a FINE DAY for the Wearin' of the ORANGE!
Got courage? You’re a Marine. Try wearing that shirt on Broadway in “Southie” today. Bring your flack jacket! Tee-hee!
Kawame KilPatrick is wearing Orange today....
We Germans celebrate Kaiser Wilhelm Day.
Saint Patrick was born in what is now Germany. He sallied forth to rid Ireland of snakes and paganism and almost won.
Will there also be the wearing of the pink today by the homosexuals who like to march in other people’s parades and stick their agenda into others’ faces.
ewwwww!
My Mom’s great grandmother was a Baptist, so, We were hated by Anglicans, Presbyterians, AND Catholics back in Belfast in the 1830’s! ;)
Then visit Boston.
10%er
That is primarily what the whole thing has turned into.
Dude, if you need a scope to see that shirt, you need a new eye doctor!
CC
I was looking for the damn alligator or Polo Player or......
I hate those things!
Only half, my Great Grandmom’s name was FLEMING, so, maybe she was Belgian? French?
Either way, old histories I read of Northern Ireland tell that it wa highly integrated, while IRELAND proper was very pure in race
Northern had Vikings, Danes, Scots, Angles, whoever, and the troubles started way back before there ever was a Catholic/Anglican split
At my first job, a doctor would tour that Catholic hospital on St Patrick’s day — wearing an orange suit and offering orange-frosted cake to everyone. Never will forget!
One St. Patrick’s Day, I made the mistake of ordering a Bushmill’s and a Bass. The Irish-American waitress was so offended by the Protestant whiskey that she didn’t notice the English beer.
For the next round I ordered a Jameson’s and a Harp. I’m all about reconciliation.
My German father was fond of mentioning to my Irish mother that he chased them all into South Boston....:-)
Scot-founded Jameson’s is owned by a French company and Harp’s belongs to Protestant-founded and English-owned Guinness.

Irish Rovers Lyrics
” The Orange And The Green “
Oh, it is the biggest mix-up that you have ever seen.
My father, he was Orange and me mother, she was green.
My father was an Ulster man, proud Protestant was he.
My mother was a Catholic girl. From county Cork was she.
They were married in two churches, lived happily enough,
Until the day that I was born. Then, things got rather tough...
Great tune, first heard it a few weeks ago.
