Anti Gun Senator Carl Levin Says He’s Hanging It Up

Politico reports Michigan Senator Carl Levin (ANTI) has announced he will not seek reelection. On The Issues has Levin’s voting record at this link.

A typical Democrat, Levin has obviously never seen an anti-gun bill he was not smitten with. Briefly quoting the On The Issues report linked above:

Voted NO on allowing firearms in checked baggage on Amtrak trains. (Apr 2009)

Voted NO on prohibiting foreign & UN aid that restricts US gun ownership. (Sep 2007)

Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers. (Jul 2005)

Voted NO on banning lawsuits against gun manufacturers for gun violence. (Mar 2004)

Voted YES on background checks at gun shows. (May 1999)

Voted NO on more penalties for gun & drug violations. (May 1999)

Voted NO on loosening license & background checks at gun shows. (May 1999)

Voted NO on maintaining current law: guns sold without trigger locks. (Jul 1998)

Rated F by the NRA, indicating a pro-gun control voting record. (Dec 2003)

Close the Gun Show Loophole; restrict show sales. (May 2009)

On economic and social issues, the record shows Levin to be a typical Democratic Socialist, voting for

Vote fraud: “Voted NO on requiring photo ID to vote in federal elections. (Jul 2007)

Deficit spending: “Voted NO on paying down federal debt by rating programs’ effectiveness. (Mar 2007)

Bankruptcy fraud: “Voted NO on reforming bankruptcy to include means-testing & restrictions. (Mar 2005)

Global warming scan: “Voted NO on barring EPA from regulating greenhouse gases. (Apr 2011)”

On civil liberties issues, the 79 year old Levin is unfortunately typical of Democrats from the founding of the Party to today’s Socialist Democratic Partei

Hopefully, the good people of Michigan can come together behind a moderate, pro-gun and anti “tax-print-and blow” candidate for Senator.

Just off the top of my head I like Dr Rob Steele. So far I've really liked my representative Mike Shirkey but he needs more experience.

I’m done with moderates. If Kerry Bentivolio can win the very moderate McCotter district, we can run a conservative for senate.

There you go CC! I’ll work on McCain on this end. Juan definitely should “spend more time with the family”. LOL!

I hope Walberg runs and Shirkey takes his spot, but I think he's happy where he is.

I hope it's not Candice Miller.

I took a chance in Shirkey as an unknown element and he’s turned out to be a real tea partier without ever saying the words.

If McCain is in Washington, somewhere outside of Del Webb’s Sun City an IHOP is missing its’ elderly costumer arguing about an expired coupon.
