2014 may turn out to be what Republicans hoped 2012 would be. Taking over the Senate, and kicking Harry Reid back to minority leader. Michigan Democrat Senator Carl Levin announced he will not seek re-election in 2014, created yet another chance for Republicans to pick up a seat. Of course the problem always is, will Republicans find a strong enough candidate to run for the open seat?

If the Republicans run a squishy moderate, they just might win!

If the republicans don’t nominate a RINO - they will win the seat.

Don’t count on it. The old Republicans will be against any newcomer which means it would have to be a Rino. And we still will have a one party government.

Roger Kahn is making noises about running for the seat but we better think long and hard about making him an untouchable senator.

GOP Senators, SEIU Taxpayer Giveaways, Campaign Cash and More, OH MY!

Dr Rob Steele is the late entry tea partier who gave John Dingell a real run for his money. Its early but something worth thinking about.

Yes he did, and I was a proud volunteer. If Doc' won't throw his hand in, I am really impressed with Patrick Colbeck.....

A real out of the box-er? Dr. David Janda, he is Rand Paul on Steriods !!!!

You're full of crap, you know nothing about Michigan politics......

Michigan U.S. Senate seats dominated by Dems have nothing to do with Rinos running but rather the liberal strongholds of Detroit, Flint, Bay City and Grand Rapids and the overwhelming support of the UAW...........

And so please educate me. What Repubicans have you guys elected in the last 50 years that was not a Rino? You say the seats have been dominated by Dems, then why have you not run true conservatives? In my universe if I have the choice of a Dem or a Rino I choose the Dem. because I am not electing somebody who LIES about their beliefs.

I guess you have been happy with Michigan going the way of Detroit. Do you even have any Rinos, let alone true Conservatives in the state?

"Dr. David Janda"

I'm down with that!

Levin was on the Detroit City Council and is therefore responsible for the decline.
