Mexican Drug Cartel Likely Responsible For Assassinating Texas Prosecutor

Last Thursday Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse was gunned down outside the local courthouse by two men in tactical gear who remain at large as reported by Frank Heinz for NBC in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Hasse prosecuted organized crime cases, and was likely targeted for retribution. Investigators are looking at the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas which is a major methamphetamine distributor for the Gulf cartel as reported by Dave Gibson for the Examiner.

The drug cartels freelance their retail distribution and enforcement work to local street and prison gangs across the United States, and have recently been targeting both Mexican and U.S. law enforcement officials for assassination.

Meanwhile, the Obama admininistation naively -- or is it cynically? -- continues to insist that the border is secure, there is no evidence of drug-related spillover violence, and American citizens have no need to own semi-automatic rifles and standard-capacity magazines for personal protection.

The answer to “Why does anybody NEED an AR-15?”, is “Protection from the drug cartels.”

This isn’t just for folks with land within 10 miles of the border.

The cartels aren’t just letting mom & pop take over their business, just because a couple states decided legalization was a cute idea.

“This isn’t just for folks with land within 10 miles of the border.”

Agreed.

The drug cartels are in hundreds if not thousands of communities across the country. How can the government credibly claim citizens have no need to own guns for self protection when clearly law enforcement has failed against the most violent criminal organizations from street gangs to drug cartels?

On a different note:

The prosecutor likely refused a bribe.

When confronted, it’s important to kill the messenger, on the spot.

This prosecutor mistakenly dismissed that option.

Janet Napolitano: “The borders are secure.”

We just have to think of “secure” in a somewhat different way, that’s all....

Thanks, War on Drugs, for creating the conditions for drug cartels to get the resources to assassinate U.S. officials and get away with it!

Is this how martial law gets declared? Narcotraffickers bringing their violence across the US border?
