"The Sheriffs strongly support our Citizens right, protect his right, to bear arms under the Second Amendment and the National Sheriffs Association does not support any law that deprives the citizens of the rights provided under the Constitution and the bill of rights."
"Every elected sheriff has the right to enforce the laws in their county as they see fit."
Dean Weingarten
Law Enforcement is on the side of LAW not Tyranny....
I guess the government will also be taking the dangerous assault weapons away from county sheriffs.
This is the first time in my life that I can recall so many elected officials taking a stand against the federal government. The sheriffs of this nation standing up to this federal and state assault on its citizens ought to be commented. They may go down in history as the force that prevented tyranny from taking hold in the US and stopped CW2 from starting. Time will tell.
Sherrif’s are elected, they know who butters their bread, Be frightened of the State Troopers.
But will they act against them?
Say arresting legislators or enforcers that, respectively, authorized and enforced them?
It's one thing to say "I'm not going to act to help evil", it is quite another to say "I, will not allow/tolerate evil."
Some of these western sheriffs (mine included) have stood up against fed unconstiutional acts. Not just making nice sounding statements. My sheriff is working on prevent feds from preventing citizens of this county from accessing national forest lands that we’ve always accessed. IIRC feds had to back off. I will check and see latest status.
I think more fence sitters/moderates are jumping down on the “hell no” side; noth just sheriffs but us regular people.
