Given that Kerry is, at best, a traitor, would you prefer to have him voting in the Senate or wasting his life in State Department.

Seems to me that's an easy question to answer ~ now, about Hagel, I imagine his replacement is getting his shock treatments out of the way now.

Difference is, Kerry is was treated with great deference, nobody truly went at him. Hagel has made some enemies and several senators were ready to expose his severe weaknesses, which they did. It was not pretty, in fact, it was extremely ugly.

The best thing the Dems can do now is pressure Hagel and his WH fans that he needs to pull his own nomination so another pick can be made.

IOW, don’t put them in a position to choose between voting against Hagel vs. voting for Obama’s pick. They don’t like, and deeply resent, being put there.
