Between the headline and conflicting provisions of the story I can’t tell whether this was a statutory rape or a focible rape. Certain, ignorance of the law isn’t a excuse either way but to try and claim he didn’t know forcible rape was illegal and for the judge to buy it is pretty breathtaking.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse
Lets try to use common sense here
The Islamic youth (18 yrs old)can claim ignorance and cultural background,
but for the judge to accept the excuse ,and suspend sentance
is inexcusable !
