Edward VI (1537-1553), son of Henry VIII, was crowned king of England and Ireland in 1547 at the tender age of nine. Despite his youthfulness, and the brevity of his reign (he died prematurely in 1553 from an illness), Edward the VI was one of the most godly kings in history. He helped the cause of the Protestant Reformation, and enforced biblical civil law.
Edward VI's coronation took place on February 28, 1547. During the coronation, Archbishop Thomas Cranmer (who would become a martyr during the reign of Bloody Mary) delivered a powerful address—the kind that should be given to all qualified civil rulers. Of Cranmer's charge to Edward, one writer says:
[T]he most remarkable circumstance connected with the coronation, was the address of archbishop Cranmer to the youthful monarch. The prelate therein gave the following charge, which the king did not forget, as his subsequent conduct shows.

That may be true. But that was a different era. The point was that he was a leader who was unashamed of upholding the law of God! Our current “leaders” won’t even go there.
I don’t need government involved in my religious life. In every era it has not been for the betterment of either!
He was a stooge who fronted for his manipulators. Whether or not you approve of their manipulations depends on your viewpoint.
As Wikipedia briefly sums it up, “During Edward’s reign, the realm was governed by a Regency Council, because he never reached his majority. The Council was first led by his uncle Edward Seymour, 1st Duke of Somerset, (1547–1549), and then by John Dudley, 1st Earl of Warwick, from 1551 Duke of Northumberland.”

This is a Christian nation. The government ought to be upholding the Law of God.
They only have the right and power to uphold the Constitution. They need to do that and only that!

The murder of Edward’s successor Charles I was the direct consequence of the Protestantism Edward’s handlers installed in his name.
Cromwell thought he had a mandate to enforce his idea of God’s law. It didn’t work out too well. It seems that Catholic monarchs thought killing Protestants was them enforcing God’s law. And Protestant monarchs thought the same of killing Catholics.
Then we have the son of Henry VIII. What did Jesus say about divorce?
I disagree. The country was formed based on Judeo-Christian principles, but not truly as a 'Christian' nation, because the Founders wanted this country to be open to people of ALL religions, or even NO religion. Our laws are based on those from Britain, which were based on the Common Law, which were likely based on the Ten Commandments, so at their root, our laws ARE based in religion, but the Founders strove NOT to force any particular religion on anyone.
He would have made a great Catholic ;)

There is NO such thing as “religiously neutral.” Every government reflects a religious point of view. Our government’s values used to be Christian. Now it is the religion of SECULAR HUMANISM that guides us. We need to reclaim America for God and get back to our CHRISTIAN, BIBLICAL roots before it is too late?
