Gun-control efforts are arrogant abuse of rights: Make no mistake—pols are coming for our guns

This is not unexpected. The Newtown, Conn., elementary school shooting is the impetus. While the deaths at the school are beyond tragic, firearms confiscation and an assault weapons ban (however defined) are liberal opportunism. It is the government attempting to usurp our rights.

We are made in the image of God. Traditionally, this includes the capacity to reason, to make moral judgments, communicate through language, develop relationships governed by love and commitment, create and enjoy all sorts of arts, and to investigate our universe through scientific developments.

Being made in his image, God gave man dominion over all the earth. God also gave rights that no one can take from us — life, liberty and property.

In order to protect these rights, people band together to form governments. In doing so, the people are recognizing that protection of these rights is of utmost importance. Our founders expressed this without reservation when declaring independence from the English monarchy.

In America, we do not make ourselves subservient to the government; the government is to be subservient to us. Unfortunately, due to its nature, and the sinful tendency of people, there are those who would look to usurp the rights God has given us, and supplant God by claiming these rights are from the government, and hence, from men.

So it is with the political rhetoric we now hear from the liberal politicians and special-interest groups.

Ban assault weapons and there will be no more mass killings, they say. Ban high capacity magazines and there will be no more mass killings. Ban semi-automatic pistols and there will be no more mass killings. Take the guns from law-abiding citizens and there will be no more mass killings. Register every gun owned by every law-abiding gun owner in the land...

Any real attempt to interfer with our right to protect ourselves from the government will result in a rather rude awakening about how that right was meant to work.

The plans were in place before Ø was 'elected' the first time.
They've just been waiting for a 'serious crisis that wont go to waste' to implement it.

ALL legislative gungrabs have been event-driven at least since 1963. Been there. This s***’s getting old, faster than me.

Read your state Constitution, it may well give you the right to protect your property with deadly force.

Also if obama does it with an EO, it is a violation of federal law to trample on your constitutional rights under the color of law.

You need to study your state constitution, if you live in NY State, you are screwed.

We, my family and I, are moving North.

This is not unexpected. The Newtown, Conn., elementary school shooting is the impetus.

The word is "excuse," not "impetus."

Texas has both “castle doctrine” and “stand your ground” laws.

In addition, it has CHL and reciprocity with many other states.

What state “north” are you referring to in your post?

FRmail/ private Rreply welcome :)

The state that has the large Militia and secession movement. The one whose Constitution makes it impossible for state or local police to garb a legally owned gun, the one that is most likely going to be the first state to rebel.
