Appearing on MSNBC’s “Hardball” on Thursday, former New York City mayoral candidate and author Mark Green advocated for new legislation that would allow people to identify and locate gun owners who lived in their neighborhoods. He compared it to the already existing “Megan’s Law,” which lets citizens know if a convicted sex offender lives near them.
Then he flat-out compared sex offenders to gun owners.
If we have a Megans Law — because I think almost everyone might agree — that if youre a convicted child molester, a neighbor might want to know that because theyre in your home, safe, but maybe they could hurt someone else, Green said, adding Same thing with guns.”
There may be people who think the more concealed weapons, the better. Fine. Live in Texas or Florida, he said.
Green was reacting to the Journal News’ decision to publish the names and addresses of pistol permit holders in two New York counties. The obvious flaw in Green’s argument is that legal gun owners are not criminals and therefore no reasonable rationale exists to place gun owners on some sort of database similar to that of a sex offender registry.
Even Michael Smerconish, Chris Matthews’ fill-in host, disagreed with Green’s assessment and said he was not comparing lawful gun owners with convicted child molesters in any way.
However, Smerconish did agree that gun owner information should be publicly available. Putnam County, N.Y., Executive Maryellen Odell disagreed and said releasing lawful gun owners’ information was an invasion of privacy.

Don't Pooh-Pooh the Left's Push to Normalize Pedophilia
The left doesn't know if it's going or coming.
I thought he was still living in his mother’s basement doing funny things to small dogs with dinner forks. He still around?
...and Mr. Green, you’re a total, freakin’ moron. Next time some savage breaks into your apartment on the Upper East Side and tries to rob or murder you....or rape your wife....you can be glad that I don’t live next door and won’t be coming to your defense with a Glock .45 ACP or Remington 12 gauge pump shotgun.
You’re on your own, pal. Sleep well, asshole.
FU, Mark Green.
What’s next, shoving gun owners into cattle cars on the way to the death camps?
I’m in favor of publishing an interactive list of leftists - because of the inherent risks they pose to the community.
The democrats have become some truly nasty rabid critters. Since returning to Washington, Alan Grayson has done nothing but sling a steady stream of insults at conservatives which appears top be his sole reason for being there. (Now its the GOP is the “bath salts caucus”)
If I were John Boehner, I would publicly announce that no bill sponsored or co sponsored by Alan Grayson will be considered until his party gets him under control.
Its funny - Mark Green always struck me as some sort of sex offender himself. Maybe he owns a firearm.
Fight begins: 1865,. Indeed, gun control is in the Democrat Party DNA, all the way back to its racist Civil War-era roots, when southern Democrats enacted "Black Codes" prohibiting emancipated slaves from owning guns or ammunition. Such blacks were only partly free; thanks to these Democrats, the core civil right of self defense was denied them.
LOL & BTTT
Liz, host of YNN`s “Capital Tonight”,
compared legal gun owners to sex offenders last week.
That’s ok, gun owners refer to former Mayoral Canididates as idiots.
Mike Bloomberg may not be too popular on FR, but it is him we have to thank for Green not becoming Mayor of NYC.
Anyone can run for mayor.
If I were Boehner I’d have the Sergeant at Arms seize this man and chain him to a column until it’s time to recess. Any Democrat attempting to free him would get the same treatment.
"There may be people who think the more concealed weapons, the better. Fine. Live in Texas or Florida," he said. And none of the urinalists called him out on his intolerant hate speech? I hope I get to piss on his open grave.
Come to Texas and say that ya yankee faggot!
there’s only one’way most gun owners would ever let government round them up onto railcars, and in none of them are they living anymore.
but government would run out of people well before all the gun owners were on railroad cars.
Is there a difference?
I want public lists of those registered for medicinal marijuana usage, as well as those convicted of drug usage. I am sure drugs have killed more people domestically than guns.. Also, anyone using psychotropic drugs, including Chantix, needs to be made public, as well as those being treated for mental illness, including depression, bi-polar, OCD. Additionally, children with oppositional defiance disorder, which is a very violent illness, as many children have propensity to abuse animals and/or fascination with fire. I certainly believe the public has a right to know just who lives next door and dangers my family may be exposed to.
