****** “There is no one size fits all.”******

Yes there is a “one size fits all”...
Just pretend you are a Marine Squad and you are sent on a Mission for which you will not receive pay or allowances that lasts for an undetermined amount of time and you will be unsupported, you will also experience hostile fire (Artillery, Air and Small Arms) and there will be attempts to infiltrate and undermine your squad.
Hostiles will be unidentified, 360 deg, 24/7, 365 (Uniform and Civilian, no-one can be trusted)... you will get no support from either nor should you support either.

That being the scenario... make your plan...

Mission Statement (In plain terms) what is your Mission? (a,b,c)

(personally my first mission would be to go to every Pawn Shop that I had ever visited and find a certain File Cabinet and cook lunch with it’s contents, may be a worthless gesture but it will boil beans)

Who or what would be your Objective? What would be success? (a,b,c)

How would you Prepare and Equip for the Mission? (a,b,c)

Where and how would you neutralize your targets for a successful mission ... (a,b,c,)

Assets that can be accessed, secured or delivered for any (a,b,c) scenario (This is where your Prepping comes in)

That is how I would do it... that is about as “One size fits all” as it gets.

Be forewarned that local LEO, State and Federal Govt are making plans to thwart your plans, they control freedom of movement, materials, supplies, (logistics) they are practicing, rehearsing, training, arming themselves, gearing up and cherry picking their troops (finding Subjects, those that would fire on Citizens). And they have the money buy them, so you will be initially outspent and out manned, until your fellow Citizens get pissed off.

They will initially control all movement by Law then by Force... then the SHTF.

At first you will have less technology, limited to no communications and be vastly overpowered. (APPROPRIATE THEIR COMMUNICATIONS and ALL INTEL AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY)

But when push comes to shove you will outnumber them 200-400:1 in the City and in the Country maybe 800-2000:1 (probably never even see them)... either way use their shit against them... Their Family, Friends, Co-workers just became the ENEMY ... They will have already done it to you first, so you won’t feel guilty doing it to them. Just do it better than they did.

TT

PS There will be NO Rules of Engagement, expect No Quarter and Give No Quarter (unless you are a Muslim Terrorist, then demand that they read you your Rights and promise to Sue them later, you want a Trial by Jury in New York, refuse to Shave and you require special food and treatment for the next 8-10 years... or until then, seems there is quite a large pool of Politicians and at least (1) President along with a barrel full of Lawyers willing to make sure that you get just that)

If you end up incarcerated with Muslim Terrorists (and you are unable or haven’t had the opportunity to kill them, trust them just slightly less than your elected officials or their Lawyers and avoid rusty butter knives and video equipment until the opportunity to kill them avails itself.

PS PS I am fresh Out of Beer and Bluster hope you enjoyed it so Gnight all

TT

I'm curious if you have traveled much out of the country in the last 10 years or so?

It's not like it was in the 60’s where Americans and Americans were welcomed everywhere sadly in my experience its not that way today. Some of the old farts in those countries still like/envy Americans but anyone under 40...forget it.

Then there is that WOT thing..which we are losing and most of the rest of the world recognizes that fact even if most here cant.

Good Case for staying but, Chile ain’t so bad. Very much like where I live, California. I Hable e entiende Espanol pretty well and even better after I’ve been any place three days or drunk.

The key to language is not to be concerened with getting it right or worried about getting wrong. Just speak. They’ll understand and may offer some correction to help the next time. I’ve never had anyone tell my Spanish sucks except the Spanish and a friend from Argentina. But, WTF do they know? They are actually Italians and I make fun of them for it.

Chile is the only country in S. America that is modern in every way that America was just 20 years ago.

Still, they do have military checks and handing out a fistful of $1’s in $20 piles gets you waved fairly quickly through check points.

They absolutely do not like having their pictures taken, no matter how friendly you are.

If I had to pick a 2nd citizenship country, Chile is #1 ... for me. Yo Dos Centavos...

Last time I was OUTCONUS was the first Gulf War and that was Brazil... my overseas time frame was 1976 - 1993 after that pretty much all Texas, Caribbean Islands (they don’t really count) and just the Gulf of Mexico since then.

10 years ... about right, that is sad to hear

As far as the WOT ... if the hands of the people charged with winning it had been untied, it would have been won... as it is Govt / Industry on both sides are simply trading lives for $ and power and influence and futures ... as predicted by Eisenhower (as demonstrated / illustrated by Colin Powell during the 1st Gulf War, Colin knew how to make a War last)

knew my country was lost with the Kelo vs New London decision of the Supremes and worse, when you consider that 7/9 of the justices at the time of that decision were appointed by Republicans.

It was an earthquake beginning to the end. The first symptom of America’s ensuing death spiral.

You missed the point....if the USA goes belly up...you aren’t getting any more Social Security deposited into your bank account...will the Philipino’s be so charitable to replace that for you?

I have a friend who lives in Costa Rica for part of the year.

He has an escape plan to the USA. He says the natives of Costa Rica are great but there’s always something simmering under the surface that is a constant reminder that he isn’t “one of them”.

That’s true, hadn’t thought about that. I live on a farm about 100 miles from Houston Texas, the closest big city. Not as far away as I’d like, but I think I can make it here, unless we are completely overrun.

To paraphrase Dante (and, being reminded of Reagan’s view of America as the worlds last, best hope): “All ye who exit here, abandon hope.”

No. The reality is this: If you are placing your stock and confidence in this world, then America is the place where you must take your stand. To go anyplace else and think that what is happening here won’t “catch you up” there, is, in my view, an error in judgment. In America alone, the exercise of liberty has found its greatest expression. Do not expect to find anything resembling its (liberty’s) equal anywhere else.

I'd strongly suggest anyone contemplating moving to give it a try for at least 6 months...

And to give the more mundane experiences a try while they are at it. I'd suggest, for an authetic experience:

1) Stand in line at a bank for a withdrawal, on pay day.

2) Have a lovely drive through a major traffic area during "rush hour"

3) Utilize some of the fine public services available such as the "post office", if that country actually has a postal service. Many do not.

4) Request help from one of the local emergency services. Try calling an ambulance or request emergency medical care. I don't suggest you wait until you actually need it to determine the type of response you'll get.

5) And I don't suggest this at all, but it's an "authentic experience" - take a lovely stroll a few blocks outside of the nice area you selected for you and your family to live. Be "neighborly" as these are your neighbors...

Hey, if you can deal with these experiences on a daily basis, maybe you'll do fine! I'm just sayin'...these are some things a lot of folks won't consider on a few weeks vacation.

"I’m on the Mason/Dixon and it’s too frickin’ cold."

Do you know that the Mason-Dixon Line is part of the southern boundary of Pennsylvania? I was born and raised in PA and it is too cold for this old man.

My ancestor was 17 years old when he was shot in the leg delivering dispatches to General Washington. Sorry, I am not 17 any more.

I don’t know any other way to express this.

You expressed it beautifully. Your post 35 is a classic, and many here can relate to it.

You articulated,at least for me, what I have been feeling but unable to put into words.

Many thanks.

The thing is, here in the U.S. there still are millions of God fearing patriots. I live in a community of decent, church going, hard working, charitable, good folks who are also a lot more right than left despite it being New England. If a newspaper were to map the gun owners, the towns in our area would be a giant red blob.

Find a community of Old School Americans and make friends, hunt together, volunteer as a firefighter, get involved, do what you have to do to know everyone, and learn whom you can trust and who has your back and whose back you'll have on that black day when the government throws the switch and kills the internet/cell service to the entire region and the battery operated radios are reporting either static or telling people to stay inside their homes - that's the day the balloon goes up and the jackboots are already en route.
