I’ve never quite undersood this type of vandalism...if someone trashes my car, it hurts the insurance company...not me. If you vandalize a car in your “hood”, that is not insured....it hurts one of your own....so the purpose is...????

The purpose is to show the folks their power, and perhaps more importantly show the weakness of the police in the area. Thus they are in charge of the area and the government, or the citizenry, is not.

So, you and your wife and children would not feel disheartened and indignant, powerless and humiliated, if, for the third year in a row, a roving gang of vandals had torched your family car this New Year's Eve.

The purpose of their barbaric behavior is to make you feel like a powerless pawn who dare not venture out of his apartment when they rove the streets.

Regards,

P.S. What does it do to your insurance premiums when, year in, year out, your family car is torched?
