California Law Enforcement Is Losing Fight Against Mexican Drug Cartels
Friends of Ours ^ | 01/01/13 | Friends of Ours

California has indeed become The Golden State for Mexican drug cartels which have solidified their hold over the narco trade by eliminating the middle man to deal directly with street gangs in the distribution chain as reported by Adam Housley for Fox News. Of course, it's hard to place the full blame on law enforcement for failing to push back the drug cartels. After all, the border remains unsecure, many cities provide sanctuary to illegal immigrants among whom the narco traffickers hide, the entertainment industry glorifies drug culture and the criminal underworld, and so-called medical marijuana makes a mockery of the drug laws. Snide memo to California citizens: you own the drug cartels. Good luck.

Door to door; ground to air ~ those expressions can have meaning in disposing of users, abusers, sellers, dealers ~ their heirs and assigns! It's a matter of political will and we don't see any in California.

True - the problem is that one can picture it happening to actual citizens who own guns and there will be no shortage of political will.

Really... does it matter anymore what happens there?

Ever hear of the Domino Theory? I will assume you do not live anywhere near California.

Druggies are the problem so why help them to get drugs of any kind?.
Being passive cures nothing.

Druggies are the problem

Really? A bigger problem than the billions of dollars being put in the hands of cartels by the War On Drugs?

Being passive cures nothing.

Ending the War On Drugs cures the problems caused or aggravated by the War On Drugs.

The only way to get rid of the cartels is to bankrupt them by repealing prohibition on marijuana, which is the drug primarily used to finance the day to day operations of these cartels.

Luckily, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamines are utterly unprofitable, and the cartels studiously avoid dabbling in such things, so your plan is FLAWLESS.

Legalize all those, too. Hell, sell the crap in 5 pound sacks at Safeway to anyone who is over 21. My only caveat is that “society” doesn’t pay a nickel to clean up after you. The only possible exception is to toss your corpse into a garbage truck.

In the ER due to a drug overdose? You pay cash or they toss you out into the street for said garbage collection.

I am sick and tired of paying to babysit idiots. If they want to poison themselves, fine. But they do it on their own dime.

Reality check: Being passive cures nothing.

Reality check: Repeating your rebutted arguments doesn't un-rebut them. (And the War On Drugs has manifestly failed to cure the problem of druggies.)

Pot is used to keep the citizens uninvolved in what happens politically in our country. And spare me the sophistry of saying alcohol is the same. I already know that.

So what should we do about alcohol being used to keep the citizens uninvolved in what happens politically in our country? (Note that criminalizing other 'de-involving' drugs does nothing about alcohol being used to keep the citizens uninvolved in what happens politically in our country.)
