I have an older gift card from a local florist/nursery that I’m using to buy two December birthday presents .... no “new money” being spent this year. Anything else I give over the holiday (family & two special friends) will be home made ... items baked in my kitchen like quick breads, venison mincemeat, and other ‘gift’ type items.
The best Christmas we ever had was when we made a rule that there would be no “new” gifts...thrift store, garage sales, hand made only.
