Civil war may come to America
The Examiner ^ | November 19, 2012 | Jeffrey Phelps

Posted on 11/24/2012 7:51:21 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Americans were stunned last week, coming to the startling reality that citizens from all 50 states, hundreds of thousands of signatories, thus far, have petitioned their state to secede from the union, with at least seven states, as of Sunday, having the 25,000 signatures necessary to, supposedly, officially force a White House response.

It's not something many Americans want to think about, or be forced to come to terms with, however. To think the United States of America would ever be in a position of having to deal with multiple states having enough citizens to attempt seceding from the union is about as unthinkable a reality as imagining Hitler coming back to life and continuing on with his plans for a “New World Order.”

What's more, what would have to be happening in the country that would make so many Americans feel compelled to make such a desperate decision? Could it be as simple as conservatives and libertarians not being comfortable with a man of color being in the White House, the most commonly pushed idea.

Every American that pays even a little attention to politics knows there is a fairly deep divide among Americans with regard to political philosophy. After it became evident that Obama's promises of hope and change were not actually going to be fulfilled as was once promised and as it becomes evident that his administration's primary goals were to create bigger government with more and more regulation and control, the divide between the left and right in the country has no place to go but further and further apart. Entitlement and personal responsibility have never been at greater odds and conservatives and libertarians couldn't be more uncomfortable about the circumstances than they are today...

we are not going to avoid it, the only things that can be done would be to lessen the serverity and shorten the duration. But that will not happen because the parasites will not allow it. We are going all the way to the bottom and will remain there until all the parasites are dead and the producers can begin rebuilding. That will take decades.

Any student of history knows that the USA was set up to allow states to separate. Have you ever noticed that the states have governments that are fully capable of running the state without the federal?

I guess not since yo are obviously not a serious student of history.

And some better hope not because the U.S. would win in an instant.

For the record and for the math challenged. The US standing Army of 500,000 is not enough to occupy one state let alone a dozen states. For the militarily retarded please note: to properly occupy and enforce marshal law on say half the country would take 8-10 million troops.

PS more than half the current Army is from the red states and would defect.

Secession is rapidly evolving into a reasonable potential political choice.

There may be no other option in the quest for preservation of Constitutional Freedoms.

Instead of arising as a revolutionary type war, it will begin as a growing series of self-defense skirmishes as the food stamp folks see ‘benefits” declining and decide to start whole-sale taking of “what’s rightfully theirs”. Then the gobernment will step in and statrt prosecuting those who defend themselves with a heavy hand until it becomes obvious that action against the government is the only solution. Probably be way to late by the time the lightbulbs blink on though - we will have been infiltrated by the spying toadies.

“Fiddle-dee-dee! War, war, war; this war talk’s spoiling all the fun at every party this spring. I get so bored I could scream. Besides... there isn’t going to be any war.”

Yep, that's the national mentality in a nutshell.

Part of an article I read yesterday. Here's what's coming:

After 9/11, President Bush enacted several laws supposedly to ‘protect’ America from terrorists. The Patriot Act greatly expanded law enforcement’s ability to gather intelligence and surveillance on citizens within the United States, to the point of dangerous infringement on our civil liberties. Next, came the Homeland Security Act which formed the Department of Homeland Security, effectively absorbing FEMA as well as the TSA in 2003.

President Obama continued feeding the Federal government’s creeping, tyrannical appetite by disregarding the function of Congress, and signing close to 140 Executive Orders just in his first 4 years in office. I’m not really surprised that he has chosen to operate in this manner. I DO find it curious that the members of Congress have been all but completely silent about Obama’s methods of expanding Presidential control over nearly all aspects of American citizen’s lives.

Here are a few examples. Obama’s Executive Orders allow the President the following:

*President can declare a State of National Emergency, instituting martial law and Congress cannot review the action for 6 months

*Office of Emergency Planning is authorized to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and/or economic or financial crisis

*Department of Justice will be allowed to operate penal/correctional institutions (FEMA internment camps)

*FEMA authorized to establish control over the production/distribution of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and flow of money in any undefined National Emergency

*Feds will control the entire financial sector, power grid, water systems and transportation networks, including all modes of transportation including land, sea, railways, air, as well as personal vehicles and boats and other recreational vehicles

*Complete control over all food, farms, livestock, farm equipment, fertilizer, seeds, food production as well as all water resources

*Feds are allowed to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision, without compensation

*Feds will control all health resources and welfare functions

*Postmaster General will operate a national registration of all people

*Housing and finance authority can test new population locations and relocate citizens accordingly

*Feds have the power to freeze all bank accounts and stop any financial transaction that a ‘sanctioned person’ may own or try to perform. If the Prez. , Secretary of the State or Secretary or the Treasury declares an individual to be a ‘sanctioned person,’ that person will be unable to access their accounts, unable to process or make loans and unable to move money to any other financial institution inside or outside the U.S. Neither can a third party access the accounts for the ‘sanctioned person.’ If the ‘sanctioned person’ feels the ruling is unfair, he cannot sue, therefore, the Feds are now literally allowed to rob us blind and we have no recourse. This will soon include IRA’s, 401K accounts, stocks, bonds or any other retirement funds. No proof of any wrong doing by the government is required.

On September 9, 2012, DHS Secretary, Janet Napolitano stated that an Executive Order granting the President sweeping power over the Internet is “close to completion.” But, of course it is! We would expect nothing less from this administration.

In addition, as if there were any facet of our lives the Feds don’t have control over, BO and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton are hell-bent on signing the United Nations Treaty On Small Arms Trade, which will nullify our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms unless Congress objects. And I think it’s been proven that Congress is not going to object. Gun confiscation under penalty of prison will occur.

After all, it’s difficult to establish a totalitarian government if the citizens are armed and ready to fight to retain their freedom. Senator Ron Paul warned, “As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.”

So, what does all this add up to? Our President can literally decide to declare a National State of Emergency, for ANY reason whatsoever, which gives him the authority to institute martial law and enact all of his Executive Orders. Seriously, the parameters for his ability to do this are vast. Someone looks at him funny—he can declare a state of emergency. He gets a hangnail—state of emergency. It’s just that vague.

He can cut off the power to any or all cities. He can cut off food and water distribution, and forbid escape from this country by any means. He can freeze ALL bank accounts and other assets of every citizen. He can literally round up Americans and throw them into the FEMA camps without charge, attorneys or redress of any kind. He now has that power, and very soon, will be able to shut off communication to the outside world through the internet.

So, would he really do that? Does the Pope wear a funny hat? Do politicians lie? Do dogs target fire hydrants? OF COURSE HE WILL!!!

The left sees secession as a real possibility. Some Freepers see it as a joke....

Secession is the ONLY thing the leftists know can actually derail the Progressive Freight Train.

Secession was considered a joke by many in 1859 too.

Rifle-Toting Terrorists Called Major Threat to U.S. Power Grid

Friday, November 23, 2012

Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) — An attack on the power grid by terrorists — even ones armed with relatively simple weapons — is among the greatest threats to the reliability of the nation’s power system, the chairman of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said.

“There are ways that a very few number of actors with very rudimentary equipment could take down large portions of our grid,” FERC Chairman Jon Wellinghoff said today at a Bloomberg Government breakfast in Washington. “I don’t think we have the level of physical security we need.”

The security of the power-network components such transformers “is an equal if not greater issue” than cybersecurity, Wellinghoff said.

“A coordinated physical attack is a very, very unsettling thing to me,” Wellinghoff said. The FERC chairman said that about six weeks ago he visited a Pennsylvania plant where high- voltage transformers are made. “It was a very interesting and very eye-opening experience,” he said.

Transformers, which alter the voltage of electricity, are often custom built for utilities and can take 18 to 36 months to make, according to Wellinghoff. They are also inadequately protected, often surrounded only by chain-link fences, he said. An attacker “could get 200 yards away with a .22 rifle and take the whole thing out,” Wellinghoff said.

“The real public disorder will occur as the Obamatons realize that their lives will not be dramatically transformed by more Obama.”

It will happen when the EBT system collapses, for any of a dozen reasons. But it will collapse, and our cities will explode.

Those won’t work well unless they can live in them. The next civil war,or revolution will be fought by random attack, not by defined target. If that vehicle becomes a symbol of “the other side”,no one will want to be caught near one of them.

I wasn't stuned, I was laughing at how many idiots were taking this seriously.

The sad thing was is that it was part of the ongoing campaign to create a false image of conservatives as extreme, right wing haters. It got attention.

I’m against a civil war, at this point, but I disagree that it will be one sided. Do you know any military folks? I assure you a full 80% of the military isn’t going to be shooting at mom and dad and uncle. Most of our military is NOT the sons and daughters of liberals. One of the fastest ways for the administration to get itself in trouble would be to threaten the populace with the military. We aren’t North Korea, (Yet, anyway)The only way this government can threaten it’s population with it’s own military is after it already has totalitarian control, over food and everything.Hopefully it doesn’t come down to that, and that is the very reason that the govt.’s power needs to be limited.

Those are not a problem. All it needs is a new paint job.

Middle/upper management can’t keep a secure 300 yard perimeter.

Won’t be any “marchers” Just someone appearing around the corner for a second..Those folks who think a civil war would be fought like the first one are wrong. Random snipings, IED’s , guerrilla warfare by a lot of small groups, only loosely associated with each other. Call it terrorism, if you want, the reason it is so popular is because of it’s success ratio. We have learned that even our mighty military force has a lot of trouble with such things. Let’s hope it doesn’t have to come to that.

I believe you are correct in that assumption. What will bring the socialist administration down is when the cities are cut off. The takers will then start attacking the producers and all hell will break loose.Won’t have to be secession by any particular group of states.
