And where do you put the kids of mixed race? I guess we will need a Racial Determination Board in order to classify those kids and determine which track and benefits they will get.

Race-based preferences are wrong, illegal and unconstitutional.

A number of states have decided to separate their education achievement goals by race as part of their No Child Left Behind waivers.

That's right. Leave blacks behind - that's what its all about.

Liberals: "Otherwise, despite the careful social conditioning we have ensured they receive, they might get an education and climb out of the ghetto. And then they might become prosperous and socially connected (in unapproved ways) and even (gasp!) show up at our wine and cheese soirees. Imagine that! Illiberal negroes showing up at our parties! They might rape our women, rob us and discuss the free market! We can't have that! A disgrace, I tell you, a disgrace! We need those waivers now to protect us from the negroes!"

I worked with a young Mexican man in California. He was a trustworthy fork lift operator who wanted to move to a better job, but couldn't speak English.

I worked to help him get in a local college course to learn English and computers. When we filled out the application he listed Watsonville, CA as his place of birth. I asked him how he came to live in Mexico after being born here and he said he never lived in Mexico, He was raised in California.

I was taken back and thinking he must have somehow avoided school, I asked why he didn't learn to speak English.

"I didn't have to", he said. "We had bilingual education."
