WINSTON-SALEM Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center will lay off 76 employees this week and cut a total of 950 jobs by the end of next June, the center's chief executive said today.
Dr. John McConnell said most of the cuts are administrative positions, but some faculty members could lose their jobs due to cuts in federal research funding. Ruining the best system of medical care in the world out of pure spite - if we can’t run it, nobody will - hope all those people who voted for Obama again, and all those who refused to vote for Romney, are going to enjoy what we’ll all be reaping......
We live in a surreal fantasyland. I would not be surprised if the next Department of Labor unemployment report shows a large reduction in the unemployment rate. Reality is what the government tells us it is. Forget your eyes, ears, and other senses.
Forsyth County, NC, where Wake Forest Medical Center is located, voted for Obama over Romney. Perhaps the 1000 people losing their jobs will blame Obama, but most likely they’ll trot to the welfare office and praise Obama for their unemployment benefits and foods stamps.
Wow..... Not good for the Winston Salem area. That hospital is about all that’s left there.
Those are likely going to be VERY good paying jobs too. This would probably be equivalent to that community losing 4,000-5,000 lesser paying retail jobs. Bad news indeed.
Don't you believe that for a minute.
If one university medical center can eliminate 950 administrative positions and keep operating, maybe they are overstaffed and not all of that administration is necessary.
................ like the federal government.
I think it is more, “If people in Africa can’t have it, nobody can.”
You’re probably right - “We’re all going to be equal, or die trying”.......
